Sacajawea was a Shoshone Indian who guided the Lewis and Clark expedition when
she was only a teenager. As you read this, you will learn the
life of Sacajawea. Enjoy! :)
Younger LifeWhile Sacajawea was 11 years old, her tribe was attacked by the Hidatsa tribe. She did not make it
out fast enough so the tribe took her as a slave. Later
on, The Bird Women (Sacajawea) was won by Toussaint Charbonneau while he was gambling. She became 1 out of his many Native American
wives.

The Lewis and Clark Expedition
The expedition started on May 14, 1804.
While traveling, Lewis and Clark hired
Charbonneau just to have Sacajawea
guide them from the Great Plains to the Pacific Ocean. The expedition ended in
1806.
