What is Podcasting?• Podcasting is the method of
distributing multimedia files, such as audio or video programs, over the Internet using syndication feeds, for playback on mobile devices and personal computers.
• The term, coined in 2004, combines "iPod", a popular portable audio device, and "broadcasting."

• Open GARAGE BAND
• Select Podcast
• Click Choose

• Choose a File Name
• Choose location to save file
• click on arrow for more choices of where to save the file
• Click Create

• Click on the red dot on the ‘Male or Female Voice’ track to activate the microphone
• When you are ready to record, press on the larger red button on the centre of the screen
• Refer to your story board while creating the recording
• The microphone is sensitive - don’t shout

• Read the whole script
• If you make a mistake, read out the correction without stopping the recording
• Do not start all over again
• Errors can be deleted later
• Click on the PLAY button to stop recording

Creation Process• BEFORE RECORDING
• Click control and uncheck ‘metronome’

• Correcting an error:
• Bring the needle to where the mistake is located
• Ensure that the audio track is highlighted (bright purple)
• Click on EDIT and select SPLIT
• This will create a split at the location you have placed the needle

• Repeat the step, this time placing the needle at the end of “the mistake”
• With “the mistake” standing alone from the rest of the track - click on DELETE to erase it
• Join the two good tracks together
• Continue until you have edited the whole recording

Creation Process• Drag and Drop Pictures
• From Media Browser (Right)
• To Podcast Track (Centre)
• Do not leave any blank spaces on the track

• Add Jingles
• Click on the ‘loop browser’
• All the available jingles will be displayed
• Select the one you want
• Drag and drop into the ‘Jingles’ track

• Exporting the completed podcast
• Click on FILE and select SAVE
• Click on SHARE and select EXPORT TO DISK
• Export the file to your desktop
