PERSONAL PROFILESustainable Development Masters student with a wealth of management and project experience. Seeking opportunities to use my creative, organisational and networking skills to tackle inequality and climate change by transforming local and global food systems.

EDUCATION MSc Sustainable Development in Practice (in progress) - UWE, Bristol. BSc (Hons) Psychology Degree (2:1) - University of Southampton, 1999. A-levels: Mathematics - Pure & Stats. (B); Art & Art History (B); Biology (C) - Gosford Hill Sixth

Form College, Oxfordshire, 1996. 9 GCSE’s including: Mathematics (A); English Language (B); Double Science (A,A) - The Cooper

School, Oxfordshire, 1994.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCETeam & project management: Led a team of marshals at the Bristol ‘People’s March for the Climate, Justice & Jobs’ in November

2015. An estimated 3000+ attended the march, raising awareness of these urgent issues. Delivered multi-stakeholder projects within tight timescales whilst managing day-to-day workload

(e.g. replacement of call logging & asset management system; upgrade of 1000+ laptops; urgent software fault which increased workload by 2000%). With careful planning and effective communication all projects were delivered on schedule whilst maintaining Aviva’s service levels.

Recruited and trained a team of analysts to implement new quality controls, resulting in a marked improvement in Computershare’s customer communications (scores rose from 76% to 95% in 10 months).

Actively supported development of Aviva’s Asset Management Team, leading to many staff members progressing to more technical roles within the IT Department.

Awarded silver in Aviva’s nationwide recognition scheme for ‘positively embracing change’ (achieved 100% customer satisfaction while handling a substantial increase in call volumes).

Communication & networking: Raised the profile of Computershare’s new quality initiatives through networking events,

engaging presentations and the building of positive relationships with key stakeholders. By creating a strong collaborative working environment all new quality measures were well received and smoothly integrated.

Facilitated full-day, quarterly service review meetings with Second Step’s Leadership Team. By engaging and supporting all Service Managers well in advance I was able ensure 100% attendance and effective, positive meetings, where all attendees were able to contribute to strategic decisions.

Designed clear, meaningful quality assurance reports and instigated open, honest feedback mechanisms at Computershare. By taking a firm but flexible approach I was able to positively influence behaviour and begin to change the working culture.

Data management, analysis & reporting: Developed the accuracy of Aviva’s asset & stock control systems, which reduced the amount of

surplus IT equipment purchased each year. I was personally awarded a ‘Get Smart Award’ for salvaging kit that would have otherwise been disposed (£15k+ saved).

Collated and analysed data on active travel choices while volunteering in the Research & Monitoring Unit at Sustrans. The data from the 50+ project beneficiaries was then used to influence policy decisions by demonstrating the positive health effects of active travel.

Improved monitoring and reporting processes at Second Step (enhanced data quality & collection processes; reviewed & clarified KPIs; instigated & led monthly meetings with service managers) - enabling Board decisions to be based on accurate, meaningful information.
