nvQs in the WorkplaceSt Vincent College offers a variety of Vocational Qualifications at different levels, for different occupational areas. These qualifications are assessed in the workplace. Some of our qualifications offer classes, depending on the qualification and level undertaken. Learners will be interviewed prior to enrolment, to ensure they are in the correct job role/have the appropriate work placement and/or that they have the appropriate experience.

One of the benefits of vocational qualifications, is that the learner is assessed in the workplace which makes it suitable to complete whilst in work. A key part of the course will include demonstrating that you can complete certain work-related tasks. The assessor will support you to meet relevant criterias in order for you to meet the required standards. A voluntary work placement or employment in an appropriate setting is a Mandatory requirement.

During the course you will work with an assessor 1-1 to create a portfolio of evidence (where you build evidence of the work you have completed or assessments that have taken place). You will be assessed by observation, where an assessor watches you work and confirms that you can do specific tasks to the appropriate level of skill required.
