What are the Levels of Progress?

Early Tech (lowest level-1) Developing Tech (second lowest level-2) Advanced Tech (next to highest level-3) Target Tech (highest level-4)

Area 1:Teaching and Learning-What does this Mean? The goal of this area is for teachers to integrate

technology seamlessly in a student centered learning environment.

Technology is available 24-7 and anywhere.

Teachers are knowledgeable of all Technology TEKS and they create and integrate online learning (blogs) that support TEKS in other subjects.

Teaching and Learning Scores of Bradfield-Advanced Tech (Level 3) The survey found that teachers primarily use technology in

teacher led and some student centered environments. It showed that most teachers had access to technology on a

weekly basis instead of 24-7.

Teachers are knowledgeable of the TEKS and use them.

Most teachers create web based lessons that support learning objectives.

How Can Bradfield Move to the Next Level? By integrating technology seamlessly throughout

all subjects

Learning has to alter as students need to be the center of the learning environment using technology in all subjects.

Teachers and students need to have access to technology 24-7 (school, home).

Area 2-Educator Preparation and Development-What Does This Mean?

The goal is for teachers to develop strategies for creating new learning environments that get children to think critically and collaborate with others using technology.

Teachers have 30 hours or more of professional development.

Teachers create customized interactive learning environments and teach content online.

Most teachers have completed professional development on integration of technology.

Most teachers have participated in a professional development to teach online

19-29 hours of technology professional development

How can Bradfield Move to the Next Level?

By adding more professional development including opportunities to teach online.

By demonstrating all of the SBEC technology requirements

Teachers participating/mentoring others in development of ways to support learning environments to empower students to think critically.

Area 3: Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support-What does this Mean? Campus leadership promotes a shared

vision that promotes innovation with technology, as well as online learning.

There is a technology-rich Campus Improvement Plan as well as technology support on campus to encourage instruction using higher level thinking.

Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support Scores of Bradfield-Target Tech (Level 4)

All areas are on target except for one…communication and collaboration.

How can we move forward? By using a variety of media formats to not only use with other professionals but to use and communicate with parents, staff and all who have a vested interest in education.

Area 4: Infrastructure for Technology-What Does This Mean? The ratio to student to computer is 1 to 1

Internet is available with adequate bandwidth

Enough technology staff support

Classrooms are fully equipped with technologies to enhance student instruction.

Infrastructure for Technology Scores for Bradfield-Advanced (Level 3) The survey showed that Bradfield has four or less

students per computer.

There is at least one computer per teacher with ample technologies per classroom.

One technical staff member per 351-500 computers.

There needs to be appropriate bandwidth for rich and customized online instruction.

How can Bradfield Move to the Next Level? Adding more computers.

Making sure all classrooms are equipped with the right technology to enhance learning.

Internet access that will allow a great volume of people to be on network at once so that there is no problem with using online learning that uses rich media.
