Dear Parishioners,

We just wanted to take this opportunity to say “thank you” for your continued support of Shepherds Storehouse.

We are now able to assist over 200 families each month of the year. We could not do this without folks like you who consistently help with your financial support, your prayers and wonderful volunteers who serve with us.

All 40 of us, all volunteers, say THANK YOU for helping us meet the needs of the families in our area who are hurting. We know you join us in saying, “To God be the glory, great things HE has and is doing”. Through His ministry at Shepherd’s Storehouse.

Sincerely yours for a world without hunger,

Luther Slay,

Executive Director

A sense of humor is a gift from God. Laughter unites us. Funny things help us get through the humdrum of life. Without humor this would be a lot harder. So, as a private request, I am honor-ing that person. Here is your catholic joke for the day. Enjoy!! ;)

–A Jesuit, a Dominican, and a Franciscan were walking along an old road, debating the greatness of their orders. Suddenly, an apparition of the Holy Family appeared in front of them, with Jesus in a manger and Mary and Joseph praying over him. The Franciscan fell on his face, overcome with awe at the sight of God born in such poverty. The Dominican fell to his knees, adoring the beautiful reflection of the Trinity and the Holy Family. The Jesuit walked up to Joseph, put his arm around his shoulder, and said, “So, have you thought about where to send him to school?”

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed

Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You

into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come

at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were

already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me

to be separated from You. Amen.

“Tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy.” Today we celebrate “Divine Mercy Sunday; Pope John Paul II established the Feast of Divine Mercy on this Sunday of each liturgical year. The Roman Catholic Church canonized Sr. Kowalska as a Saint on 30 April 2000.[ In the 1930s, Jesus chose a humble Polish nun, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, to receive private revelations concerning Divine Mercy that were recorded in her Diary. St. John Paul II explains: “This was precisely the time when those ideologies of evil, Na-zism and communism, were taking shape. Sister Faustina be-came the herald of the one message capable of off-setting the evil of those ideologies, that fact that God is mercy—the truth of the merciful Christ. And for this reason, when I was called to the See of Peter, I felt impelled to pass on those experiences of a fellow Pole that deserve a place in the treasury of the univer-sal Church.” Right now we need God’s Mercy, and He offers it to us. The World must let Him in in order that He may restore us. I do believe (and Pray) that this Pandemic will run its course, and hopefully go away. There has been great suffering through this, and will be but, if we open ourselves to the Lord’s Healing, it will come about and we will be able to witness growth from all of this. We can learn from this, we can unite as One in Christ as we are designed to, and we can make the adjustments for the future to be better prepared. Our World can turn back to God and my Brothers and Sisters once this comes about, I believe that there is no end to the Graces that God will bestow upon us once this occurs. Please stay in contact with each other, looking out for those who live alone and are isolated. Call our office if you know of anyone in need, I myself have been trying to contact some of you. Please know that I pray for all of you and I ask that you pray for me, our office staff and for all. Peace be with you always, Fr. John W. Martin.

"Entonces, ¿has pensado dónde enviarlo a la escuela?"

Estimados feligreses,

John W. Martin.
