Thermal Strip Printer 5007 s Industry, Inc. Building Technologies Division s Data Sheet Fire Safety & Security Products MXL / MXLV Thermal Strip Printer [for use with MXL panels and FireFinder TM XLS] Model TSP-40A Product Overview The Thermal Strip Printer (Model TSP-40A) is designed for use with the Siemens Industry, Inc. Fire Safety Division’s FireFinder XLS and MXL system. Model TSP-40A mounts in the respective enclosure of either aforementioned fire panel, and its printout is visible through a window in the locked enclosure door. Printouts are automatically spooled on a take-up reel for easy record storage. Model TSP-40A acts as an event-logging device, providing a permanent history report of all systems activity. Model TSP-40A can also be used to provide system-status reports, including a listing of all smoke-detector sensitivities and thresholds. Model TSP-40A will also supply a listing of device analog voltages, device type and custom messages. Model TSP-40A operates from the fire alarm system’s main power, and will continue to function if the system transfers to standby batteries. This battery back-up operation assures event logging during an AC power loss without the need for a UPS. Model TSP-40A uses thermal-printer paper, and can operate in both normal and compressed character modes. System events, such as: Alarm and Trouble are indented and printed in caps for easy identification. System reports are printed in compressed, 80-character mode. All events and reports are printed with the time of day and date. Specifications Permanent history logging of all system events shall be provided by Model TSP-40A. Model TSP-40A shall be mounted in a locked enclosure, and its printout shall be visible through an opening in the enclosure door. All printouts shall be automatically spooled onto a take-up reel. Model TSP-40A shall operate from a 24 VDC supply, and shall continue to operate from the system standby batteries in the event of main power loss. No UPS system shall be required for backup power. Model TSP-40A shall record all system events including operator commands, and shall be capable of providing a printed list of system conditions, such as: detector sensitivities, thresholds, analog voltages, device type, and custom messages. A Trouble condition shall be generated when printer paper has run out. An internal buffer shall continue to store events when paper is out.
