To all residents, if there is anything we can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact the office. Remember that all service requests must be handled through the office. Please do not stop and ask a maintenance person to correct a problem in your home. Our team is committed to helping you, but they are usually busy while on property and may forget to make note of your concern. The most efficient way to handle a service request is to contact the office.

A Slippery SlopeBad weather makes for some slippery conditions in our community. Although we make every effort to be ahead of weather conditions, make sure you use extra caution when driving or walking.

Love BugsMany of you may be hoping to be bitten by the love bug this Valentine’s Day. Make sure that is the only bug you are getting bitten by. We will continue to do our part by providing routine pest control. Please do your part as well. Keep counters clean and containers secured in your cabinets. Remove items from corners and closet floors so spiders cannot hide. Watch your indoor plants for uninvited critters.

Water, Water EverywhereIn the rare case of a plumbing emergency, it is helpful to know

where the water cut-off valves are located. The cut-offs for the commode extend from the wall under the tank. You will find the cut-offs for your sinks, both kitchen and bathroom, under the sink, usually inside the cabinets. If you ever have an emergency and water is flowing everywhere, cut off the water supply if possible, then call in a service request. Cutting off the water as soon as possible will cut down on damage to your home and its contents.

Toasty InsideDuring these cold winter months, you may be tempted to get warm quickly by using an electric heater. Use caution! Don’t place your heater near combustible materials, never plug the heater around water, and never use while sleeping.

Watch Your SpeedMake sure you’re following the posted speed limit throughout our community. Let’s make sure we all stay safe as we drive. Please make sure your guests are aware as well.

Valentine TraditionsEach year on February 14 we celebrate Valentine’s Day. Cards are sent to friends and sweethearts, presents are given to show our love, and flower shops sell more flowers on this day than almost any other day of the year.

The symbols that you see on cards and gifts during this time of the year have been around for centuries. Red hearts are used most often and have stood for love since ancient times. Ribbons are taken from the days when ladies gave a ribbon to their favorite knight in shining armor before he went into battle. You find lace decorating cards and boxes of candy. Lace is a Latin word that means “to catch,” so lace was supposed to catch the heart of a loved one. And Cupid, the Roman god of love, uses his bow and arrows (which he always carries) to shoot love into people’s hearts.

This month as we celebrate this holiday of love, take the time to tell someone special that you care.
