MOMS - MINISTRY OF MOMS SHARING - AN EIGHT-WEEK SESSION BEGINS JANUARY 9TH AND IS OPEN TO ANY MOM— PARISHIONER OR NOT, CATHOLIC OR NOT, AND WHO HAS NOT ALREADY PARTICIPATED IN MOMS IN THE PAST 5 YEARS. There are 2 groups available—the “Young Mother’s” group and the “over 40” group. You become part of a very close group of women and you can decide how involved you care to be when the session has ended.
The Ministry of Moms Sharing (MOMS) mission is to create in women an awareness of the inner sacred self and teach them new ways to inspire, encourage and affirm each other. Through this personal and spiritual growth, women bring these gifts to the Christian community. Cost is $20. Registration forms are available at the church entrances. Return them to the basket or the Faith Formation Office.

Putting Our Faith into Action
Catholic Relief Services (CRS)
Hunger and Disease in Somalia. Three consecutive below-average rainy seasons have resulted in persistent drought, pro-jected to last until at least next year. One million Somalis have been forced from their homes by hunger and conflict, and an estimated 3.1 million people are in need of emergency assistance. Lack of clean water led to a severe cholera outbreak, which peaked at more than 75,000 reported cases, many of them fatal. The most pressing need is for clean water, sanita-tion and hygiene support. Informal displacement camps have sprung up in urban areas. Many families arrive there with only what they could carry when they fled on foot. Camp conditions are extremely poor and more people arrive daily. CRS is providing safe drinking water, hygiene kits, outreach sessions and messages to teach people about hygiene, food assistance for 9,000 families, mobile clinics and training for health workers to treat malnutrition and communicable diseases. Learn more at sharejourney.org.
As Catholics, we recognize that prayer is of the utmost importance, an invaluable contribution to helping the poor overseas. It
guides our actions; it binds us in solidarity to one another and connects us more deeply with the grace that flows from God. To
that end, on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 pm, we will pray a Rosary in the adoration chapel for our brothers and sisters in
Somalia who continue to suffer from drought. All are welcome; please join us!

Do A Good Deed Every Day!
Boy Scout Troop 564 from St. Barnabas is hosting their annual pancake breakfast fundraiser on January 21, 2018. The scouts would appreciate your help in making this our most suc-cessful breakfast ever. You can help by donating items that can be used for either door prizes or raffle items. Practically anything can be of use to us. Logo merchan-dise is ideal for use as our door-prize give-aways. This is an excellent opportunity to help promote your local business as periodic announcements will be made throughout the morning thanking you for your help. Cash donations will be used to offset the cost of the breakfast. Please contact Gregory Kile at (317) 523-6467 or [email protected] for more information or to arrange a pick-up. Thank you for your consideration!
NCYC Youth Reflection By: Harrison Koppenhofer – Senior at Roncalli High School
The National Catholic Youth Conference was an amazing experience for me.
Not only did it serve as an escape from the stress of school, but also as an opportunity to strengthen my relationship with God. I was able to participate in a Mass like no other in Lucas Oil Stadium with an outrageous amount of other youth. NCYC was an absolute privilege to attend this conference and allowed me to grow in my faith. It’s certainly not hard to see God working at this conference. For me, I was inspired by the keynote speakers. The speakers were absolutely phenomenal and helped to ignite certain ideas within my mind. NCYC made me realize that there is so much more to the Catholic faith and it is so much larger than my little high school bubble. I was able to experience the joy of my religion and to experience it with others my age. NCYC opened my eyes to see the diversity, strength, and power of the young Church. Overall, this experience was a well-rounded event where I was able to see the best Christian artists, outstanding public speakers, and the most faith-filled youth. NCYC made me realize that this conference is the living body of Christ. Seeing this was extremely reassuring to me knowing that my faith is not dead or made up. My faith is very real and that was proven through my experience at NCYC.
