Hospitality is an important part of the Christian faith. How do we

welcome people into our community? Hospitality can make or break a

Christian community. Many people come as strangers seeking a friendly

face, a warm conversation in a cold world, and just to know that people

care about them. That doesn’t seem like to big of a task. Yet sadly many

of these folks leave very cold churches, turned away from not only

Church, but unfortunately turned away from God! This cannot happen.

We must always welcome and embrace friend and stranger. Realizing

that we are ambassadors for Christ. We welcome as Christ would

welcome. We want the type of faith

community in which there are no

strangers. Only brothers and sisters in

Christ Jesus. So let us strive to make all

feel a vital part of this journey we share.

To one and all we simply say; Welcome!

Would you be willing to host a Bible Study in your

home? Pastor Tim is looking for a few homes to host a

small bible study. He will be the leader but just needs a

place for folks to gather. If you might be interested

please let him know. Schedules and times are wide

open at this point.

It’s time to jump, jump, jump those jiggles out, clap, clap, clap those crazies out and

sing, sing, sing our praises out on Wacky Wednesday. For those who may be confused

the Totally Terrific Thursday singers sang this song every week last year as one of their

opening songs. What will be different this year is that their praises will not be sung out

on Totally Terrific Thursdays but will be singing out once again on Wacky Wednesdays.

The time remains the same from 4:00-5:30 p.m. The place remains the same at Pastor

Kielley and Liz’s house at 58 Maple Avenue, Littlestown and the agenda remains the

same with bible study time, crafts, singing and snacks. Children ages 4 through

whatever are encouraged to sign up on the sheet found on the Hospitality Table. Choir

started this week. Kids, ask those who attended last year and they will tell you we had

a totally terrific Thursday time and this year we plan on having a WACKY

WEDNESDAY TIME!

Cold Weather Preparing to Set In! So we are going to warm the world with God’s Love!!

We are going to have two special ingatherings for the Month of October to help people stay warm

this winter! Please help us with these special projects.

Sunday October 7-Blanket Sunday! We are going to be gathering new blankets to be shared with

those agencies that help those who will struggle against the cold of winter. Please bring your new

blankets to worship and we will gather and distribute them to those in need. We will accept gently

used blankets, but please bring them laundered and ready for distribution Remember we want them

to keep people warm so if they are worn and torn, they may have a better use.

Coats for Kids-We will sponsor a coat drive again this year for the children of the Cheyenne River

Reservation in South Dakota. We are asking for Boys and Girls coats up to size 16-18. There is also

a need for hooded sweatshirts caps and gloves. We will NOT be collecting adult clothes or sweaters

this year. Baby clothes will be gathered and shared with two shelters. Our October Special

Offering will go to help pay for the shipping of these items to South Dakota! If you have any

questions please see or call Merl Brilhart 637-7483

So let’s warm up the world with God’s gift of Love!!

New Hope has been blessed to receive a very special gift.

We have been given a beautiful new 3 Octave Hand Chime

set. The chimes were dedicated during our worship ser-

vice last week. The Hand Chimes are the gift of Candy

Rule and are given to New Hope in loving memory of her

mother Millie Child. Thank you Candy for sharing this

beautiful gift of music with New Hope.
