Goldsmith Primary Academy Putting children first’ School News 9th October 2020 Dear Parents/Carers and Children We hope the children are enjoying our new hot lunch menus. Each Friday, we will update the lunch menu on our website, ready for the following week. You can find this under the ‘Our School’ tab, in the ‘School Kitchen’ section. The children of Goldsmith have really impressed me over the last few weeks, they have settled back into school life as if they have never been away! I felt very proud walking around school today, it was lovely to see all classes focused on their learning and enjoying their lessons. Keep up the good work! Please can we remind you that all children should be wearing their yellow PE tops on PE days (as shown below) and not their own clothes. Mrs Bridgwood Headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers and Children We hope the children are enjoying our new hot lunch menus.

Goldsmith Primary Academy ‘Putting children first’ School News 9th October 2020 The ‘Hands. Face. Space’ public information campaign urges the public to continue to wash their hands, cover their face and make space to control infection rates and avoid a second peak. However, masks aren’t needed in school because of other safety measures we have in place. Please try to follow the Government guidance while out and about in the Community and remember to keep distance on the playground when dropping off and collecting Please see the following links for more information issued by GOV.UK

Goldsmith Primary Academy ‘Putting children first’ School News 9th October 2020 Reminders Please may we remind you that the drop off and collection times are now back to the normal school day. As you are all aware we have numerous rules in place with regards to Covid and children arriving late via the main office have a high impact on our risk assessment. If they are KS1 pupils, they are at risk of crossing bubbles and we must prevent this from happening, therefore, arriving at school on time is paramount. In summary: Drop Off: 8:40am to 9:00am Collection: 3:10pm to 3:25pm We ask that you please still maintain a safe distance from others when dropping off and collecting and adhere to all of our measures in place. We have worked hard to have these implemented to do our utmost best to keep you, our children and staff safe. Jewellery Children should not be wearing any jewellery to school except for small stud earrings. Uniform Please ensure all children are in correct uniform and children from Reception-Year 6 are wearing a school tie. Ties are available to purchase via ParentMail and will be handed to your child once purchased. Main Office Please only visit the main office if absolutely necessary. The entrance is a small area and difficult to maintain the correct restrictions. Therefore we ask that you please avoid where possible. Parent Mail Thank you to all parents/carers who have signed up to our new system ‘ParentMail’. By using ParentMail, we are now a cashless and paperless school. This means that any payments made to school (dinners, uniform, trips) all need to be paid via the app. Under no circumstances, can we accept cash. ParentMail is also used to send out texts and letters. Therefore, if you have not yet registered your child’s account, you must please do so to receive all correspondence from school. ParentMail uses a new email system that will send all letters/notifications to your email inbox, therefore it is important that you check this. We urge you to please download the FREE ParentMail app to use this system. Once downloaded, this does not use any internet/data on your mobile device. Should you need any assistance with this, please do not hesitate to contact Miss Bennett in the main school office who will be happy to help.

Goldsmith Primary Academy ‘Putting children first’ School News 9th October 2020 School Photographs This year children will have their school photographs taken on 21st October 2020. Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to have sibling photographs taken due to the restrictions in place. This would mean large amounts of various children mixing in one area which would break the current bubbles in place. We apologise for this, however it is out of our control and we are hopeful we will be able to offer this at a later date in the school year. Please also note that all children will remain in their bubbles whilst having photographs taken and we will also operate a one way system in which they sanitise their hands upon arrival. Flu Vaccinations This year’s Flu Vaccinations will take place on 5th November for all children in

Reception-Year 6. Please note that a form will be sent out to all children in those year groups shortly detailing the vaccination and an option for you to give your consent. Please also note - this is NOT an injection, it is a nasal spray.
