Love in Hong Kong Photo Contest 2017

Eligibility

All current full time sub-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate EdUHK students are

eligible to join this contest.

Theme

Love in Hong Kong

To find love in Hong Kong through the eyes of students from different origins; and share the

stories behind your snapshot of love.

Prizes

1st prize: $1000 Coupons from Broadway

2nd prize: $800 MUJI Gift Coupon

3rd prize: $500 LOG-ON Gift Coupon

Up to 10 merit prizes: $100 MUJI Gift Coupon each

Award presentation ceremony

3:00 pm, 6 December 2017 (Wednesday), Ho Tak Sum Multipurpose Room (B3-P-06)

Rules and regulations

1. Photographs together with the Entry Form 2017 should be e-mailed to

photocontest@eduhk.hk on or before 12:00 noon 20 November 2017.

2. Each participant may submit up to 3 photos but no student will be awarded with more

than one prize. All files should be saved in JPEG format of a size not less than 2

megabytes (MB). Each photo shall be of a resolution of 8 megapixels or above.

3. Please name your files with your full name according to the following example:

Name of entrant: Chan Tai Man

Name of Photo: friendship

Files names: chantaiman_friendship.jpg

4. Describe each photo in less than 50 words on the Entry Form 2017 provided.

5. All photos must be taken in and around Hong Kong and must be the recent work of the

entrant.

6. Minor editing such as cropping, reasonable adjustment to exposure, colour and contrast,

white balance, are acceptable.

7. The decisions of the Panel of Judges on all the results of the Contest shall be final.

Entrants shall raise no objection.

8. Global Affairs Office (GAO) has the right to require an entrant to submit, as and when

necessary, the original digital file(s) (of a resolution of 8 megapixels or above) of his/her

entries for examination or reproduction without paying the entrant any royalty or

remuneration. Entrants shall raise no objection. GAO has the right to strip an entrant of

his/her winning title(s) and cancel his/her award(s) if he/she fails to provide the original

digital file(s).

9. GAO has the right to display/publish the entries in its publications and other publicity

channels without paying any royalty or remuneration to the entrants.

10. All matters and disputes will be subject to the final decision of the GAO.

Usage and rights

GAO has the right to use the images only in connection to the photography competition

(website and exhibition) and other promotional materials of the University.

GAO takes no liability for images submitted to the contest being reproduced by an external

party without the consent of GAO and without the prior permission of the photographer.

Right to cancel

GAO reserves the right to cancel or suspend the competition at its own discretion if not

capable of continuing as planned for any reason that is beyond our control.

Modification of competition rules

GAO reserves the right to change the photo competition rules. If this happens it will be

notified on the website.

Legal responsibility

GAO will take no responsibility for the repercussions of any photo submitted to the

competition, nor any problems incurred by the entrants while participating in the competition.
