KIDDY CAMPKiddy Camp is specifically for children ages 3-5 (must be 3 by April 30, 2018, or 5 but not enter-ing kindergarten). Camp is a 6-week, half day,classroom based program. Every day, the chil-dren will participate in free play, story time, songs, outdoor play, art, sports and much more! Special events and entertainment are held weekly to enhance the program.

LOWER CAMPLower Camp offers an active, supervised camp program for children enrolled in grades K-2 as of September 2018. Camp groups are co-ed by grade. Sports, group games, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, field trips and special theme days are just part of the fun planned for these campers.

UPPER CAMPUpper Camp is specifically for children enrolled in grades 3-6 as of September 2018. Campers are grouped by gender and grade. This camp program gives campers the opportunity to participate in a variety of trips and programs including sports, games, arts & crafts, indoor rec, a variety of special events and themed days.

CAMP 78If you are going into 7th or 8th grade and you’re looking for something exciting to do this summer, Camp 78 is for you! This camp goes on different adventures daily. We have an array of trips and activities planned for this summer. Come build everlasting friends and memories for your 2018 summer vacation. The 2018 trip calandar is posted on line. GENERAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration/Enrollment:Rye Recreation has moved to an on-line registration system for most of the programs offered (excluding Senior Citizen programs). If you would like to register in person, or if you prefer to pay by cash or check, we would love to see you. Just be aware that many programs, particularly tennis, fill quickly and may be filled with on-line registrants before your application is processed in the office. We have a limited number of laptops available for you to register on-line in our office. To make your registration process faster once registration opens, create your account in Community Pass (if you don’t already have one). Go to www.ryeny.gov/recreation.cfm and follow the link provided.You may only register for your own family members.

Late Registration:Individuals registering late will be required to pay the total fee. Program fees will not be prorated.

Non-resident Registration:If space is available in a program, non-residents may register beginning March 20. Please refer to the specific program for additional fees.

Payment:Full payment is expected at the time of registration whether on-line or in person. On-line payment is by credit card (MasterCard and Visa).In-house, Rye Recreation accepts cash, checks or credit card (MasterCard and Visa). Checks should be made payable to the “City of Rye”.

Returned Checks:A $20.00 fee will be assessed for all checks returned for insufficient funds. Returned checks cannot be re-deposited. Cash or Money Order may be required to replace the returned check and service charge.

Program Cancellations & Refunds:

Cancellation Due to Lack of Enrollment:If a program does not have a sufficient number of participants registered, the program may be cancelled by the Recreation Department. A full refund will be issued.

Refund Policy:If a participant becomes ill or injured and is unable to attend the remaining sessions of a program, a prorated refund will be issued to the customer’s account. A doctor’s note is required and the request must be received in writing within a week of the injury/illness.

If a participant wishes to withdraw from a program prior to the program’s start, the request must be made in writing a minimum of five days before the start of the program. The refund request also can be emailed to [email protected]. A refund will be issued to the customer’s account, less a 25% processing fee.No refunds will be considered after this time.

Weather related cancellations:Call the Recreation hot line 1-hour before the program for the latest information (967-3077). If the public schools are closed, Rye Recreation programs held in school facilities will also be cancelled.

Insurance:The City of Rye maintains a standard liability insurance policy that does not cover medical costs for anyone injured during the normal course of participation in any Recreation Department program or facility. ALL persons participate at their own risk.

Photographs:By registering for any of the offerings listed in this brochure, you acknowledge for yourself or those you are registering that photographs of participants may be taken and used in City of Rye publications and websites.

Senior Citizen Program Registration begins on April 2 (in person)

REGISTER EARLY!! Most programs have minimum requirements and may be cancelled due to low enrollment. Nothing cancels programs more than waiting until the last minute to register. In addition, programs have maximum enrollments and may fill up quickly.

Total Golf Adventures is bringing the golf course to you in this 3 day camp! TGA Premier Junior Golf teaches swing fundamentals, rules and golf etiquette while using technologically advanced, safe training golf balls along with junior clubs. All is done in a fun atmosphere while creating a realistic golfing experience. Equipment is provided and all skill levels are welcome.

The Rye Recreation Department will provide chaperones and transportation. Van leaves from the Damiano Recreation Center at 11:30 a.m. sharp and returns approximately 3:45 p.m.

Our multi-purpose room, on the main floor, holds up to 80 people with tables and chairs. You can have a fabulous children’s party with plenty of room for them to move around freely to enjoy the party.

PicnicsPicnic grounds are available from May through September. Picnic facilities can accommodate 20-150 people. A $100 deposit is required when you reserve your date. Softball fields may be secured on select days for an additional fee.

Meeting RoomsRooms at the Damiano Recreation Center are available for rent on weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. All facility rentals include the set-up of tables and chairs, trash receptacles and custodial services.

Courts may be reserved starting at 7:30 AM for play later on the same day. Reservations must be made in person by signing up on the sheet posted at the courts. Players must wait 2 hours before signing up for another time, unless there is an empty court available.

• All players must have a valid membership or pay the daily fee. Please have your ID handy to show the attendant.

• Players should sign in on the posted sign in sheets; 60 minute time limit per court if another member is waiting to play.

• Players using Har-Tru courts must sweep and clean court lines after use.

SENIOR ADULT PROGRAMSThe Rye Senior Citizen program is open to all Rye residents aged 60 and over. Wednesday is the Senior meeting day with weekly meetings at 1:00 p.m. and activities until 3:00 p.m. Activities that day include: bingo, card games, ping pong and billiards.Membership/Dues: Membership is open to residents of the City of Rye that are 60 years of age or older. Dues are $10 per person per year, paid in September. Trips & special events: All trips and events are announced at the Wednesday Senior Membership Meetings and require advanced registration along with payment. Registration is done in person at the Rye Recreation Department. Non-members can register for most trips after they have been opened to the membership. Stop in and see what is being offered!Classes (exercise, arts & crafts, etc.): Register in person at the Rye Recreation Department on the day of the first class you will attend; sign-up forms are available in the office. You are welcome to try a class before signing up.
