The motif ran through all aspects, from the stunning flowers by Bunch Florist, to the pretty luminaires and coloured glass bead centrepieces. “We met Ali from The Local Bakehouse at a wedding show,” says the bride. “She had a chandelier-style cake on display, which matched beautifully with the feature chandelier at the venue, it was ideal.” There were personal touches throughout the whole day. The bride and groom collect rubber ducks so they used these on their invitations, it was even more perfect when they found the Roman Baths gift shop sold centurion rubber ducks. “We couldn’t believe it,” says Sarah. “We just had to use them as favours!” The groom decided to learn a new skill and developed a light-up seating plan for their loved ones. “Our guests pushed a button and their table lit up on the plan – it went down a storm,” says Sarah. LOOKING THE PART Sarah saw the Marian dress by La Sposa while researching online and in magazines. “It was discontinued but luckily my local store had a sample I could buy,” remembers the bride. They made it fit him exactly despite him rapidly losing weight after a cycling accident,” explains the bride. The chief bridesmaid looked stunning in a peacock-green twist-and-wrap style. “As the dress could be worn in 16 different ways she could alternate her look between the ceremony and reception,” explains Sarah. TIME TO CELEBRATE “The ceremony took place at 7.30pm and lasted just six hours so there was no time to get bored. Guests loved looking round the museum after dark,” explains Sarah. Live music is an important part of the couple’s life so booking the super-talented Erika was an easy choice. “She is so fun and interactive, everyone loved grabbing a light-up tambourine and joining in with the band!” They created a wedding hashtag so their loved ones could easily share photos. They chose #1Bride2Grooms as a clever play on Lee’s surname. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Bride and groom enjoyed the whole day leading up to their evening wedding. Sarah and her mum relaxed with a spa day, while Lee had time to finish off the last-minute preparations. Both agreed that seeing each other for the first time was the highlight of their nuptials. “I hadn’t seen his suit before, he looked so handsome and happy,” remembers Sarah. The groom loved seeing the bride make her entrance in to the Great Bath. A HELPING HAND The newlyweds knew they couldn’t have done it without the help of their talented team of suppliers. “The venue staff were incredible, everything was planned to perfection and they really embraced all our quirky ideas,” says Sarah. “Our photographer Lee created the most beautiful images and really made the most of the gorgeous steam and lighting.” 43 REAL WEDDINGS RW Traditional_YBSW63.indd 43 22/01/2018 10:29
