RVCC Financial Aid BOOK AUTHORIZATION
INSTRUCTIONS
The Financial Aid Award Offer on your SIS account included a series of questions regarding
use of your Student Title IV financial aid funds which incorporated a section regarding
Book Authorization.
If your financial aid is complete, you may elect to use your remaining Title IV funds to
purchase or rent books and course-related materials from the campus bookstore.
Completing and submitting RVCC’s Summer 2020 Book Advance form our office will confirm
your Book Advance Authorization and spending limit with the Bookstore. This information is
located within your SIS account.
Your Book Advance may only be used during the Book Advance period, usually two weeks
prior to start of classes and two weeks after start of classes (May 12th - June 10, 2020.) (including late start classes) The amount of your book(s) and/or course-related
materials will be charged to your student account. Your remaining Title IV credit balance will be applied to these charges. Below are the criteria to qualify using RVCC’s Financial Aid Book Authorization form:
1.) Be a financial aid recipient.
2.) Have accepted/declined (online) your Financial Aid Award Offer and answered the Title
IV questions. Log into your SIS account if you are uncertain by clicking on link and

3.) Have completed your Entrance Counseling and completed/signed your Master
Promissory Note. https://studentaid.gov/h/complete-aid-process You will need your FSA ID
(Username/Password) to enter the site.
4.) You will need to print-off or screenshot your student Detail Schedule (with the course
number and the section code for each course.) To obtain this information go to the
Student Information System (SIS) located on the College’s main web page under
Student Services, or Follett Shopping Cart.
5.) Once your cart has been populated, check out, choose “Financial Aid/Scholarship/VA” as
tender, complete shipping address using a street address (NO PO BOXES)
6.) If you do NOT wish to use your financial aid award money excess funds (refund) you
may purchase books at any time as an out-of-pocket expense. NOTE: Please allow up to 48-hours for processing.
