These instructions describe the installation and registration actions required to successful installation of Ruukki toolbox for Revit. Installation and usage supports versions Revit 2013-2015. Note! Installation requires administrative rights.

1. Download installation package
Download the installation package here.
Installer will be downloaded to default location on your computer.
2. Unzip and install the application
Unzip the installation package to your computer. After unzipping the files, start installation from ProdLibSetup.exe file.

Start installation and follow the instructions on screen.

3. Registration
To start using Ruukki Add On for Revit, the application must be registered and content downloaded. Follow the steps below.
Start AutoCAD or Revit normally. When opening the program, new menu has appeared to software, titled “ProdLib”. Open the menu and select “Ruukki” (picture 10 & 11)

When starting first time, window requiring registration will appear. Continue by selecting “Register” and fill in requested information. Note! Working e-mail address is required for successful registration and usage (picture 12).

After sending the form, window with instructions to complete registration will be prompted. As requested, check your mail complete registration by clicking the link in your mail (picture 11).
Note! If you don’t receive the e-mail, check also the spam mail box in case the mail was filtered there.

After the installation and registration is completed, latest versions of all content available will be downloaded to your computer. This typically takes 1-5 minutes depending your network connection. In future, only new content will be downloaded.
When started first time, you must accept the End user license agreement.

4. Basic usage
Ruukki Panels can be inserted to model as Revit Wall objects or individual beam objects. Wall object can be used and edited as normal Revit wall object.
Beam objects are inserted as individual Panels and then copied for the whole project. Using Panels as individual beams enables control of each individual panel and its properties, for example colors. Also accurate listing of panels is enabled.
These instructions describe basic usage of both options.
5. Using Ruukki Panels as walls
Start inserting Ruukki Panels by selecting a required view in model and select desired Panel type from Ruukkis product catalogue.

Start Ruukki Product catalogue from tab “ProdLib” and click icon “Ruukki”

Browse between products and select required panel type. You can also change the panel colors before inserting the wall.
Select option “insert as wall” and press “Insert to start wall modelling.

Wall properties can be modified as normal Revit wall. Define the wall height, location line etc.

6. Inserting Ruukki Panels as individual beams
Start new project and select view to start inserting panels.

To enable easier copying of panels, create levels according height of the Panel element (typically 1200 or 1100 mm).

Start inserting panels by going to plan view in ground floor level. Open Ruukki product catalogue and select required panel. Use option “insert as beam” and start insertion.

Continue by showing start and end point of panel

When modelling panels as individual beam, used insertion point is inside surface in middle of the vertical joint. Default joint width is 20mm and is managed with panel properties “Panel start/end shortening “

Same panel properties are used to manage corners. For example when panel wall thickness is 200 mm, make other panel property “Panel Start shortening to 200 mm to reach required corner joint.

Modify all corners as required for the first layer of panels
Once the 1st layer is modified as required, use the commands “copy to clipboard” and “Paste to aligned levels” to copy panels to next levels.
