RUTLAND HEIGHTS

Page 2: RUTLAND BRO 9-19

LocationThis elegant development is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Torquay on the English Riviera; set majestically on the headland looking out to sea, the properties enjoy stunning views across Torbay.

Comprising five grand apartments, expertly crafted from the original Victorian building; three single storey apartments and two luxurious duplex suites, alongside three brand new and very stylish townhouses, Rutland Heights offers gracious living with breath-taking cliff-top views.

Daddyhole PlainThe cliffs below Daddyhole Plain form part of the South West Coast Path; 630 miles of coastline creating the longest National Trail in the UK taking in heritage, wildlife, geology and stunning scenery.

The area is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Country Wildlife Site, particularly noted for the geological features in its limestone cliffs, especially the fossils it contains of corals, and the beautiful alternating bands of shale and limestone, making such a striking feature. Gold deposits have been found here and also nearby at Hopes Nose. There are also many rare flora and fauna flourishing in this calcium rich area, making for beautiful scenery and stunning walks literally on your doorstep.

TorquaySet at the very heart of the English Riviera on the South Devon Coast, Torquay is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and genteel Victorian appearance.

A traditional, yet thriving coastal town with its iconic palm trees, busy harbour, international marina and wonderful array of continental style cafes, restaurants and cocktail bars, Torquay is a hugely popular coastal town. With its spectacular coastline and outstanding natural beauty, it is surrounded by beautiful beaches and stunning countryside, and sits within a UNESCO-recognised Global Geopark.

Excellent shops and art galleries are set around the harbour area, from gift shops to high street stores and indoor shopping centres, all within close proximity of the seafront and marina.

England’s Seafood CoastTorquay is a real foodie town; part of England’s Seafood Coast with a wonderful selection of the freshest fish and seafood available from the nearby fish market. Hosting the English Riviera’s Seafood FEAST (Festival), with numerous places to eat and drink al fresco, with Michelin starred restaurants and live music bringing the delightful harbourside to life is just one of the many events the town proudly holds.

Torquay’s increasing popularity has seen a series of elegant and stylish new hotels, restaurants and bars open. The Elephant made The Telegraph's Top restaurants in Devon list, a well earned accolade and Torquay is also on the map as one of just 19 locations across the UK to hold an official Gin Festival in 2018.

Watersports & ActivitiesFamous for its numerous water sports and range of fishing options, Torquay also hosts world-class sailing events with national and international races regularly competing in its stunning horseshoe shaped bay. Yachts and super yachts nod gently on the marina whilst a passenger ferry can take you across the water to nearby Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth.

Enjoy long leisurely strolls along the historic pier and promenade and take in the relaxed atmosphere, or walk Devon’s stunning South West Coast path with its jaw dropping views. You can take the beautiful coastal footpath right around the bay to Paignton and Brixham; this is renowned as one of Devon’s very finest waterside walks.

Enchanted Evenings Take in the amazing sea views across the bay from the Royal Terrace Gardens, which are magnificent especially at night, with the lights reflecting on the water. And enjoy Torquay’s vibrant nightlife, with its array of pubs, restaurants, bars, cocktail venues and clubs. Torquay also boasts a choice of two theatres offering a variety of top shows and great entertainment.

The Guardian described Torquay as one of "Britain's most booming coastal towns, undergoing a style revival with Michelin starred restaurants and swanky yachts"! You only have to drive

along the seafront or take a stroll along the promenade to know that this is true.

The beautiful town of Dartmouth is situated on the mouth of the River Dart, some 12 miles distant, and is one of South Devon’s most popular and enchanting towns with its charming historic streets, scenic river location and myriad of shopping, leasure and dining options. A little further along the coast is the hugely popular coastal town of Salcombe (approx. 26 miles distant) with its clear blue waters, golden beaches and renowned local artisan hand-crafted produce; Salcombe Brewery, Salcombe Gin and Salcombe Dairy producing fine chocolates and award winning ice cream and sorbets to name but a few.

The vibrant cities of Exeter and Plymouth are also within easy reach, and offer superb shopping, dining and leisure facilities whilst road and rail links and an international airport at Exeter give access to destinations further afield.

“This is a stunning county of great contrasts, with two beautiful coastlines, two National Parks and five official Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.”
