How to make a simple slide share to explain an ICT issue?

Intro

• RuralWeb is a platform where people can ask questions they have about computer-use or ICT. We encourage other RuralWeb users to answer those questions, so that we can help each other, learn more, and be able to use computers and internet efficiently. So that everyone around the world has access to the opportunities that internet provides us, such as find jobs, chat with your aunt oversees, start your own business.

Action plan for an explainer video• In order to answer questions people

state at RuralWeb about computer-use or internet, you might send a link, give a written response, or even plan a skype or chat meeting in order to explain.

• More difficult issues we like to share with slide share (this manual), explainer-videos or hand-outs for offline use (see other manuals).

I’ll tell you about storytelling first, than how to create the slide share. Beacuse thinking about how to tell your story will take on average 60% of the time, and creating it ‘just’ 40%.

And how are you going to explain your story: by word, by pictures or film, with an interview, or texts?The following simple story board might help you to think about the form of your story:Each box represents a ‘scene’ of your film. What is the message, image and/or text per scene? You may draw, write, take pictures. Of course you could skip or add scenes.

Making the slide share

I have searched for slide-share-making programmes that are easy in use, and free in use, and easily to share or abilities to print in pdf or copy to a flash drive(for offline use).

I have used PowerPoint (Microsoft Word) to copy text and pictures in a presentation (how it works you’ll find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZUwFwooMrY; or google at ‘how to make a PowerPoint presentation’).

I saved the document onto my computer.

Upload the slide shareTo be able to share the slide share at Facebook it needs to be a picture, film or internet link.At www.slideshare.net you can easily transfer the PowerPoint in a slide share that can be watched at internet!1. Log in or sign up (very easy using your Facebook account login for example)2. Press ‘upload’ button at the top of the page, and upload the PowerPoint from your computer (follow directions the

computer gives you).• Don’t manage? Press ‘’trouble uploading’.

3. While loading the slide share, you will get the opportunity to add a title, add a description, and tag the slide share with #RuralWeb and other relevant hash tags (follow directions the computer gives you).

4. Ready!5. And don’t forget to Share the internet link at www.facebook.com/RuralWebFAQ !
