Windows Installation (cont.)now you have to decide how much space you want to allocate to Windows.

eDiUS, with all its third-party appli-cations, requires 6 GB of hard disk space for installation.

Depending on how much free disk space you have available, it is a good idea to have between 20 and 32 GB for the Windows partition.

(You can choose a second disk specifically for Windows.)

to change the allocated space for the Windows partition, click the small divider between Mac oS X and Windows, and drag it to the left. the amount you dedicate to Windows will be displayed and updated in GB.

the partition process does not take long. When it is done, you will notice a new disc on your desktop.

When Windows has finished installing, after you have set up your Administrator account, eject the Windows DVD from your drive.

this is done by selecting the DVD drive, right-clicking and selecting eject. the eject key on your Mac keyboard may not work yet, since it does not have the required drivers for windows.

the next step is to insert your Windows DVD in the DVD drive.

click Start installation.

Windows installation will start.

You will get a screen asking where you want to install Windows.

Make sure that you select the newly created partition.

click the Drive options button.

click Format and once it is done, click oK.

now you can click next.

Windows will now install.

Windows will restart itself at least once during the installation. it might occasionally happen that when Windows restarts itself, you end up in oS X instead of Windows. if so, you should then restart your Mac and this time hold down the option key as your Mac starts.

You will see a few drive icons to choose from. Double click the Windows icon.
