The De La Salle University Center forProfessional Development in Business(CPDB) envisions itself as a leadingresource for continuing educationin the country. Services
CPDB, in partnership with several in-dustry associations, offers spe-cialized certificate courses. Currentofferings include marketingcommunications with PANAF, strategiccompliance for banks with ABCOMP,supply chain management withSCMAP, and digital marketing with E-Learning Edge. The Center regularlyholds public seminars on corporategovernance for directors and updateson accounting and tax standards. TheCenter also provides review programsin preparation for CIMA UKs papersand Beckers US CPA examination. TheCenter does customized professionaldevelopment programs for clientinstitutions such as Bangko Sentral ngPilipinas, Rizal Commercial BankingCorporation, Metro Pacific Tollways,and Deutsche Knowledge Services.

The Certificate course provides an overview ofthe compliance function in banks, introduceskey compliance principles and frameworks,and dwells on the specific laws, rules, andstandards that affect the banking industry inthe Philippines.Participants are also introduced to specificissues faced by bank compliance officers andcompliance teams, and are required to de-velop a compliance program for their respec-tive institutions, or provide a critique of theirexisting compliance programs.
Course ObjectivesAt the end of this course, participants areexpected to be able to:1. Enhance understanding of the compliancefunction, how it affects bank operations, andthe regulatory environment and laws facingbanks;
2. Raise awareness on the needed skills andcompetencies of bank compliance officers;and
3. Promote the highest levels of professional-
ism, integrity, and competencies in the fulfill-ment of the compliance function in the bank-ing industry.
Who Should Attend?1. Current and potential bank
compliance officers;2. Senior executives and middle
managers of commercial, thrift,and rural banks; and
3. Other interested stakeholders ofthe banking industry.

Interested participants can register atthe CPDB offices upon payment and sub-mission of the following general require-ments:
1. A bachelors degree in accounting,finance, or other related fileds;
2. At least one year of work experi-ence in the banking industry;

Participants will receive a Certificate of
Completion upon completing all 101modules and a Certificate of Attendancefor each 201 module completed. Moduleresource persons include faculty mem-bers of De La Salle University and mem-bers of the Association of Bank Compli-ance Officers, Inc. (ABCOMP).
About ABCOMPThe Association of Bank Compliance Officers,Inc. (ABCOMP), founded in 1998 and regis-
tered with the Securities and Exchange Com-mission (SEC) since 2001, is the professionalorganization of bank compliance officers inthe Philippines. A designated operations sub-committee of the Bankers Association of thePhilippines (BAP), ABCOMP whose member-ship includes more than 60 of the countryslargest financial institutions is a clearinghouse for regulatory issues among compli-ance officers, and is tasked with the effectiveimplementation of the Manual of Regulationsfor Banks, the Anti Money Laundering Act,and the SECs Code of Corporate Governance.
