1. Fouling an opponent: Stopping an opponent illegally. Making contact with the opponent without touching the ball or being aggressive in a challenge.Example: Tripping up an opponent as they are running with a ball.2. Offside: Passing to an attacker when he is in front of all the defender’s.3. Handball: Purposefully touching the ball with your hand.4. Goalkeeping area’s: The goalkeeper is not allowed to pick up the ball unless it is in his area.5. Red & Yellow cards: Cards are given by the referee for bad fouls. Yellow is a warning card, Red means the player is taken off the pitch.Example: Wayne Rooney was given a red card for kicking out at his opponent. He was suspended for the next 2 games.

5 Basic Rules in Football

Rule: Giving red cards for tackles that are not aggressive or dangerous.Example: Sometimes this rule is not fair. Sometimes a referee will make a mistake and not see the foul properly. The opponent often cheats by exaggerating the foul. I think that the rule is sometimes fair but referee’s can make mistakes. I would not change the rule but I would increase the number of referee’s to help them.

Assessing the rules

One regulation for football is – 1) The zones / areas of the pitch.

Football area’s on the pitches must be these sizes. If they are not then they break the regulations.
