SAE collegiate Club, Gautam Buddha Universityis a collegiate club of

    Society of Automotive Engineers

    Organization.

The SAE collegiate club, GBU started in 2011 and has organized many

Trips and workshops for its very SAE members. Also the Club has

Organized Events like Automotive Quizzes and Design Competitions.

The Club has Organized Many National Events Like Krazzy Wheels(IC

Engine RC Car racing Competition), Robo war etc..

The Club, this year is bringing up a World Class Event favoring Go Green

Concept i.e.Eco Kart 2014 .Eco kart 2014 is an initiative of SAE Collegiate

    Club, Gautam Buddha University .

Eco Kart 2014 is a SAE- GBU initiative. The Competition is to Design and

Fabricate a single passenger kart which is operated by a Motor AC or DC,

where Source of running the motor is a battery.

The Competition will not only help Students to build an interest Towards

Automobiles but also help them to incorporate Team work and

    management skills within themselves.

Eco kart 2014 favors Go Green Concept provided and promoted by SAE.

The Main Aim of the competition is to reduce the usage of organic fuel

powered Vehicle and to design a vehicle which works efficiently in the

growing fuel Area i.e. Electric powered Vehicle. This will not only save

the Organic Fuel but also help students to Work upon NO POLLUTION

    rides and future Fuel.

The Constraints in the Rulebook restrict participants from using

Traditional Metal for the Chassis and forces them to use new alternatives

and alloy for framing. Also the Problem statement is such that the new

innovations are likely to come across in Automobile industry.

software. The name of the software should be clearly mentioned in

    the Design Report.

Design Report-A design report in IEEE format is to be made by the

team. The design report must contain all the details of the vehicle.

The Report should be made Segment wise and should contain at

least 4 views of the 3D model. The report should have list of

Fabricated and Pre-fabricated parts that are to be used in the kart.

Cost Report- The cost report of the vehicle shall contain cost of

Fabrication (for Self-Fabricated parts), Raw material Cost, Labor

Cost, Part cost and manufacturing cost. Two cost Reports are to be

submitted before the judges. First one with the Cost of products on

which you have purchased the items and the other should be the

cost report of the vehicle if produced by new parts and is meant for

Market sale i.e. Your selling Price of the Vehicle in the Market.

FMEA- The FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) should be

presented in Hard Copy in Tabular form. This Document should

contain the list of all possible modes of failure your vehicle is/can

be Exposed to and the Suitable Remedy for it. Also the steps that

you have taken to minimize the damage in your design. The team

should also list the immediate steps to be taken in case the Failure

    occurs.

DVP- The DVP (Design Validation Plan) is a plan of the Design of

the kart. It should answers questions like why you have made it

like that only, Testing, Advantages and limitation to the design

and Responsibility Holder. Again the DVP should be in Tabular

form and should be Segment wise.

Gantt Chart-Gantt Charts illustrate the start and finish dates of the

terminal elements and summary elements of a project. Terminal

elements and summary elements comprise the work breakdown

structure of the project. This chart is basically the management of

the project and distribution of different tasks in the team members

    with completion deadlines.

the Dynamic Round consists of a series of Events

initiated by Technical Inspection and Brake test. Clearing Technical

Inspection and Brake test is mandatory for every Team for further

participation. The Team would not be allowed to participate further

even if failing in one of the above test. The dynamic Round is

    scheduled in Early February 2014

The Below mentioned events would be performed in order of their

    occurrence.

    - Some Standards have been set in the

technical inspection sheet. Every team has to fulfill each and

every Standard, failing to which the team may be disqualified.

Before coming for the event make sure you fulfill at least 80% of

3 Attempts of Clearing the T.I would be given for one team.

    - the vehicle should run on at least 30km/hr speed on

a straight track. Two consecutive Line would be made at a

distance of 20m. The vehicle has to first attain a speed of

30km/hr and just after crossing the first line is allowed to apply

brake. The vehicle in any condition should stop before the

Second Line. 5 attempts to clear this Test would be given for a

    Team.

The test is a weight test. Every Team would be

using the same type of Motor and Battery. But a Team has to

make the Lightest possible Vehicle in the given constrain. The

Vehicle would be weighed electronically and without the Driver.

The Lowest Weight Vehicle and the heaviest vehicle would be

marked as a standard and all other Vehicle would be given

    marks relatively.

basis of effectiveness and freshness in innovation. More than one

innovation is allowed. The team has to be ready for an explanation

for the innovation if asked by the officials.

means full marks. 2 attempts would be given to a team; the best

    record would be selected.

Zero Miles- This event is efficiency event. This event tests your

vehicle efficiency and performance. The Vehicle would be drained

with the previous charge and would be allowed to charge for 1 hr.

In this amount of charge the vehicle which travels the maximum

distance wins. The maximum and the minimum would be marked
