Record Books

It is not a requirement that

students send out a sponsor

thank you letter, but we are

hoping this will encourage

that to happen! It is required

that an example of a

sponsor thank you letter be

in the record book.

Record Books

• It is suggested that a copy of the record book be made

for use as a “Work Copy.” Records may then be

transferred into this book for a “Final Copy.”

• Your Record Book should begin when you purchase

your animal or on your designated tagging date.

• Record Books should start NO LATER than the

required date of ownership or Initial Weigh-in/Ear

Tagging Date

Goat Weigh-in: January 9th from

8-12

Record Books

• Only one project may be included in each Market

Record Book. If you are having more than one

market project in this fair, you must have a separate

Record Book for each project.

• Non-Market Record Books may have multiple

animals in them as long as they are the same

specie.

• Please do not make it a scrapbook.

• Place Record Book in a 3-prong folder/report cover.

• No 3-ring binders or page protectors.

• Always double check your work, especially math calculations.

• Have someone check your project story for spelling and grammar

before you write it in the final record book.

• Your final record book should be handwritten in pencil by the

exhibitor.

• No computerized books will be accepted.

• Record books can be turned in between 8am and 5pm

between March 14th-17th.

• There will be boxes set-up in the fair office by division

for submission

• The financial summary should be completed except for

the final weight and final calculations.

• Students will be receiving their market summary at April

check-ins for completion.

RECORD BOOKS

• Our hope is that record book judging will become

more consistent and fair across the board.

• It will be a process, but we are truly working for the

success of the students!
