A tour that brings the idea of romance on the Rhine to life. It takes you to Bingen with the ferry, to the Museum am Strom and on to the Rhein-Nahe-Eck, a well-known attraction by Rhine enthusiasts. Back in Rüdesheim, the tour continues to the old town accompanied by the texts of the famous Romance poets. From there, the cableway takes guests to the temple in the Niederwald. This tour finishes up with wine and pretzels in the beautiful old town.

A hike along the Hildegard of Bingen trail. The 6.7 km trail leads from the old town to the famous pilgrimage church in Eibingen, where the Hildegard shrine is located. It continues through the delightful vineyards to the well-known St. Hildegard Benedictine abbey. Insights into Hildegard’s life and the landscape of the time are provided at a large number of viewpoints.

There have been monasteries of different religious orders in the Rheingau region for centuries. During a guided walk past the Mariental and Nothgottes monasteries and the St. Hildegard abbey, you will obtain a great deal of interesting information about the monasteries and their history. The walk ends at the Niedwald monument. From there, you travel into the town with the cable-way. The tour begins at the Johannisberg Castle and ends in the Rüdesheim old town.

Monastery walk

An evening in “prison” – that could certainly be a scary thought. However, the authentic Rüdesheim prison meal at the Bollesje is simply lots of fun.Guests are welcomed to the prison cellar by being detained, before having their fingerprints taken and getting “dressed”. The criminal’s cocktail is followed by a tasty 4-course menu, including drinks such as wine, beer and soft drinks. Armed only with a spoon, every guest is sure to enjoy this prison meal. The evening demonstrates the prisoners’ possibilities to be released or end up in solitary confinement. A guided walking tour through picturesque surroundings with a view of the Rhine. Together with our guide, you enjoy spectacular views on the way to Assmannshausen. On the way, your guests will learn everything they ever wanted to know about wine. A guided wine hike leads through the vines between Spätburgunder (pinot noir) and Riesling, with a spectacular view of the Rhine valley, the gateway to the “Upper Middle Rhine Valley” world heritage site. Wine hike

The scenery as well as eating and drinking take priority during this tour. It starts off with a glass of sparkling Riesling in a wine bar in the old town. Afterwards, your guests float above the vines with the cable car to the Niederwalddenkmal monument. They can enjoy the view and listen to explanations from the wine guide. The hike then continues to the Ramstein viewpoint, where the culinary portion of the tour awaits: a wine tasting with three selected wines, a hearty vintner’s soup and pretzels. Of course, mineral water and grape juice is also provided. On the way back to the historic old town, the guests receive a great deal of information on wine cultivation, soil conditions and the climate.

One of the big tourist highlights in Germany, the “Rhine in Flames”, takes place on the first Saturday in July each year. During this tour, guests learn a great deal about the wild and medicinal herbs that grow in the Assmannshausen region. Ascent through the beautiful surroundings to the Assmannshausen viewpoint takes place with the chairlift, accompanied by an experienced guide. Here, the guests can expect delicious soup and a drink. Then, it’s back to Assmannshausen, where lunch at one of the herb restau-rants awaits. Of course, a great emphasis is placed on herbs here. The famous “grie Sos” green sauce with egg or beef is sure to impress.

Since the end of 2017, Rüdesheim now has another excellent attraction: the RheinWeinWelt wine shop in the walk-in wine tanks of the former Asbach distillery, which has heritage protec-tion status. It is unique in Germany because you can sample wines here while strolling through and dispense the wine yourself from specially constructed taps. You get to try a sip of the selected fresh wine for one token. There are more than 150 wines from 76 vintners over 165 river kilometres from Nierstein to Königs- winter. This tour once again illustrates that Rüdesheim is an all-year destination for groups. This short hike covers approximately six kilometres and offers breath-taking views and wonderful attractions. The former Cistercian monastery of Eberbach is undoubtedly one of the most famous sights in the Rheingau region. With its romantic and early gothic buildings, it is considered one of the most important art monuments in Europe. Founded in 1136, the monastery was active until its dissolution in 1803. We offer guided tours in the monastery grounds, each combined with a wine tasting of Hesse state wineries.

The first museum for mechanical musical instruments in Germany. You can find one of the largest collections of self-playing musical instruments here.
