Systems Engineer/Administrator: 02/2015-2016

Rooney Holdings (Manhattan Construction)

Responsible for assisting the engineering team with developing solutions for multiple business needs that any of the satellite companies may have, over a wide range of jobsite environments, and inter company, and vendor partnerships. Responsibilities also include assisting users in day to day issues they have, provisioning new hires in the environment (MS AD Domain), and leveraging the myriad of MS resources available to automate redundant tasks and bulk tasks in the environment., which includes utilizing systems such as the System Center suite, Powershell, and other MS systems (Orchestrator, Configuration Manager, etc.). Work with MS Data Protection Manager (DPM) for backup and redundant solutions.

Key Accomplishments:

Develop Power Shell scripts to automate bulk tasks in AD, modify accounts based off of existing attributes, and recursively update user accounts and OUs; leverage AD and GPOs to enforce enterprise policy and security standards.

Manage Exchange and assist in implementing Litigation Hold procedures, and eDiscovery procedures, when the enterprise was in litigation, user data retention, inbox retention, and search and discovery.

Create and publish documentation for undocumented procedures and fixes, as they were encountered, as well as documenting important administrative information, needed for various vendor software.

Cursory familiarity with Microsoft’s Direct Access product, that allows a VPN secured by IPSEC, and leveraging IPv6 to tunnel across a WAN and connect to the corporate intranet, without any user interaction at all. Troubleshooting this on occasion has led to a greater understanding of this product, and what it has to offer.

Design and maintain automated workflow for onboarding and terminating employees by building workbooks in SCORCH to monitor SharePoint Lists, trigger when list changes are introduced, and run a system of workbooks to execute various automated script solutions based on a variable data-set.

Monitor backups in DPM, review backup storage, and reallocate virtual storage spaces (LUNs) when necessary.

Leveraged SCCM for enterprise wide systems imaging, including desktops, and remote site servers. SCCM was used to build image Task Sequences for customized enterprise needs, spanning a wide variety of professions and software tools, as well as using SCCM for Patch Management, Application Management, and Content Management to Distribution Points.
