Strategic Metals MINING LANDS SECTION
Zig Zag Lake Prospect - Ontario
Based on 36 channel samples cut over widths totalling about 155 feet weighing 215 Ibs. and 28 host-rock geo-cheraical, samples taken over widths totaling 510 feet, we have found the following values of strategic minerals in the rock:
Tantalum Gallium Beryllium Lithium
1/2 pound to 7 pounds/ton approx. 1/2 pound per ton recoverable amountsover 2500 tons per vertical foot and grade of over 1.60# lithia, sampling along the centre of the pegmatite dykes,
Specific details of sampling procedures, locations of channel are in the reports and Plan No. 2. Sample material and some pulps are on hand for further examination.
The increased importance of these minerals nas been well documented in the literature, for example:
(1) Tantalum - The Northern Miner, February 11, 1982,
(2) Gallium - Canadian Research, October, 1981,
(3) Beryllium - Fortune Magazine, June 15, 1981,
(4) Dollar, The International Journal of American Investments, 1982, and
(5) Lithium - Mining Magazine (London, England) January, 1982.
This increased interest in strategic metals is based in part on the use of these materials in the high technology expansion in nuclear power and specialized electronics.
