to Tbe Hanna Mining Coapany in Moveabar 1961* A aagnetoaatar survey

and dlaaond drilling carried out by United Maw Fortune Ninas Llaited,

froa 1957 to 1958, outline a depoalt of low grade aagoetio iron, but

the apaeing of linea waa too wide to perait an aoourate estiaate of

grade and tonnage* For that reason The Hanna Mining Coapany carried

out a aore detailed aagnetoaeter aurvey and a geologic survey.

was originally ataked by R. Halveraon. Tbe olalaa of F.C* Toallnaon

are TB.9B969~?0 and EB.99681-86. Tba J. Walsh olalaa ara TB.100068-6*.

Tbe entire group baa ainoe been transferred to V.F. Bowaan.

All of tba olalas listed above ara in Marks Township,

Con. VI and Vll, Lota 4 to 6.

Tbe property Jolna the Rybaok-Fortelanoe ftroup on the

eaat and can be reached by oar by going west on Highway 590 froa Xaka-

beke Fella for 10 allea. Tbe last alia is on a busb road.

Famous WORKAn airborne aagnetoaeter survey carried out by Lundberg

Kxplorationa Llaited, in 1956, for Mew Fortune Ninas Ualtad, outlined a

nuaber of anoaaliea that were acquired by Mew Fortune and ware later

turned over to the Fort Arthur Iron Ore Corporation* Tbe Halverson

Oroup waa aaong those acquired in 1957, although the preaent H olalas

rastaked in I960. A ground wagm tone ter survey was performed in 1958

on line* at 660 ft. Intervels. Sana bois was also drlllad in 1958 to a

daptb of 428 faat. Mo otbar work was dona until tba property was optioned

by Tba Hanna Mining Cospany in 1961.

QEOLQOIE

Tbe Halverson Oroup is Just soutb of the area sapped by

Tanton on Q.S.C. Nap 2?6A, publiebed on a sea le of l ineb to 4 Biles.

Tbere are no worm detailed nor recent published sspa of this area* Tanton

classifies the rooks of tbe area witb bis Sebist-Covplex and Vindigolcsn

Series. In an earlier report tbe area waa called Xecvetin.

Tbe rocks of tba group are altered lavas* iron formation,

edluM to fine grained gabbro, eo&glonarate and a swdiuB to fine grained

amphibolite .

A transit-controlled basa line, baving a length of ens

ile and picket lines baving a length of 26 Biles, were eut en tba 11

clalBS. Picket lines were out st 100 ft* Intervals ever tbe anosalous

area which constitutes nore than 750 of tbe total area and at 400 ft* inter

vale on tbe balance of tbe elalBS. Magnetoseter readings were taken at

25 ft. intervals over tbe anoaiely and at 50 ft. over tbe yag*lnlng area

witb occasional readings at 100 ft. A Sharpe A -3 Begnetoaeter was used

on tbe survey. Mo base station was used but various ststions were repeated

aeveral t lac s to ensure that tbe instrument wss working properly*

of iron formation. No geologic survey ted teen dene at tte tiM of

this survey. This survey will be used in conjunction with a geologic

survey to evaluate the possibilities of this property.
