Introduction. '
A Magnetometer and Electro- Magnetic surveys were carried out. over a
part of claims S I3?06i; 137062 and 133022 on the old Hormina property
in April 1966 by the new owners. These-surveys were undertaken to oheok-' - " - , ' ' '" *. 't - V "
the continuity of the vein,, localize faults and outline possible parallel
structures*. .
A* ^Location of Property* .
The Hermina Copper property consists'of Five (5) unpatented Mining
Claims of 200 acres more or less, recorded as claims S- 133022 and S 133023,
in the north-east corner of Section. 18 and the north - west corner of Section)
t?, and claims S-l3?06l, S I3?062, and S 137063 in the south-east corner of
Section & t . Salter Twp, District of Sudbury* Province of Ontario.
The claims are situated about one mile east of the western boundary
between Victoria and ''alter Townships.. Approximately three (3) miles north
of the Trans- Canada Highway No l?. Just north-west of the village of Massey.
Or geologically at the western end of the Sudbury Nickel Beljt , just east of
the Elliott Lake area.
See Claim Map- Exhibit A in-separate folder.
B,, facilities,and Services.
It- Access Roads,
There are two township roads which run north towards the property
from Highway l?. From the end of these roads either an old railway bed on
the west or an old wagon road on the east could be repaired- to service the
property. All the township roads are kept open during the winter.
2* Railway Transportation.
The main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway from Sudbury to
*.4
, '2. 's
Sault Ste Marie, Ontario runs through Massey and Walford just three miles
south of the property*
3*-Bus and Truck Transportation.
Both ,the. Greyhound and* the Gray Coach bus lines pass through Massey and ' -\, v ". . --." . s. - ..'"- ' "' . . V •••" , " '.i','-'*".'- . , - ' ;rWalfbrd'on Trans- Canada.Highway Kp.l?.

^t? ElectrJ or Power t. r etc, ..
The main and local service lines of the Ontario Hydro pass just -,i -- 1 " - ..'*'

Both telephone and telegraph services are available in Massey and
Walford1.
5. Water;
The Sable river lies just a mile and half (li), north-east of the
property, A small spring fod ; creek flows west through claims S 133022 and SA'
133023.
6. Timber, '".' -
A good supply of mine timber is available in the general area.
There is a limited supply of spruce timber on the claims. These timber
rights are privately owned.
General Geology.
There are two geological reports on the area, -published by the
Ontario Department of Mines. In 1913 A.F. Coleman wrote a descriptive
geological paper on the area, .and in 1931 Dr. S.E.Moore reported briefly. ' ' ' S'
. on the geology of the H^mina Mine* -'. ' ' ' ' '" "* ' "' .f* 1 ' - ' i '' '

northern part of Salter Township. , "(. , J* j' ' ' '' - ' ' ' y ' ' , ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' H' •'' ., '* ' "
An older diabase (diorite) mass is found both in the southern frin

of the granite and as a large body which outcrops near the center
of ; .
Sections 16,. l?, 18, A small , narrow band of Huronian Sediments outcrops
•just south of'the main diabase mass in Section t9 and 20.
The main quartz vein on the Hennina is found both in the Granite .

existed. The diabase vaies from a coarse grained quartz- di'abaseto
a fin*
grained simple diorite* The vein .has an approximate length of 3200
feet,
a north-west strike and dips 85 degrees north * Some^minor quartz-, .
structures were found in the granite and diabase,, both to the sout
h and
north of the main vein. '
Geophysical Surveys.. . . '
The two surveys were completed ovar the main structure on the
property, A 2000 foot , base line was established in a north-west, south-
f .st direction and traverse lines were blazed and chained in a dir
ection
normal! to the main line at 100 foot intervals , both UOO feet north and
W)0 feet south. Stations were established at 25 foot intervals on
these
lines for the surveys. The lines totalled I0,.800 feet in~ length*.
See enclosed plans*.
A* ^Magnetometer Survey*
A Sharpe Model PMF- 3 Fluxgate Magnetometer was used for the surve
y,
The readings were taken at intervals of 25 feet and a magnetic bas
e
control station was-established at station 0,00 * See Plan l*. ' ' -
