PCC Setup
• Several parameters to disable editing of: – Health factors– Exams– Immunizations– Purposes of Visit (POVs)– Patient education– Procedures– Personal health– Problem list– Personal history
Immunizations
• Can determine if site will automatically store the ICD9 or CPT codes
• Can use associations on the Superbill Tab for Immunizations
POV and Problem list
• Can determine how many previous POVs should show up to choose from
• Can determine if personal history is part of active problems (BH problems may be there)
Patient Context Configuration
• DMO Allow Viewing of Demo Patients Only• DTL Set Logic for Patient Detail View• LST Recall Last Selected Patient• RNG Default Date Ranges for Patient

Procedures
New parameters with Patch 6• BEHOPTCX IGNORE ALIASES
This parameter is used to ignore aliases in the patient lookup. If it is set to Yes, any aliases encountered in the primary index of the patient file are ignored. This parameter is set at the Division and System levels.
• BEHOPTCX REQUIRES HRN This parameters forces the selected to have an HRN. This parameter controls whether a patient must have an assigned health record number to be selectable within the EHR. This parameter is set at System level. ** Please review Patch 7 Release Notes on Page 2
Types
• Pick Lists can be made for:– Education topics – Chief Complaint – ICD9 codes– CPT codes
• Each type works in similar ways
• ICD Picklist and CPT Picklists must be reviewed and updated yearly
Keys
• BGOZ CAC
• BGOZ VPOV EDIT – Enable POV editing.
• BGOZ VCPT EDIT – Enable of V CPT editing.
First List
• If you have never created a Pick List, you will get a message like the one below
• Reply Yes to get started. If you already have Pick Lists, you can select which one to edit or create a new one
Chief Complaint Pick List Configuration
• You must have the BGOZ CAC key to edit the pick list for the Chief Complaint component.
Select the Manage Pick Lists option from the right click menu above the Chief Complaint field.
The Manage Chief Complaint Pick Lists dialog displays
This process lets you add/delete pick list items for symptoms, diagnosis, and
patient requests. You do not have to a visit selected to manage the pick lists.
Symptom Location
For Symptoms, the Confirm location information dialog displays
Click Yes. The entered pick list name will appear on pick list with an asterisk following its specified name. (For example, Pain*.) This means that when the user selects the chief complaint symptom with an asterisk, the Location group box will be active where the user can select the location and the side (left, right, both). Click No, the pick list name will appear as its specified name (only).
Creating Patient Education Pick Lists• Creating Patient Education Pick List will allow the user to document multiple
education topics at one time from a single pick list.• Make sure a visit is selected. Follow these steps:
– On the Patient Education panel on the Wellness Tab, click the Add button and then enable the Pick List radio button
Click the Pick Lists button to display Manage Education Quick Picks dialog
Click the Edit PickLists button on the Manage Education Quick Picks dialog to
display the Manage Categories dialog
Click Add on the Manage Categories dialog to display the Add Category dialog
Enter the name in the Category Name field and click the OK button.
Adding a Category• If you do not fill in any of
the fields, this list is available for everyone
• You can make lists that apply to locations, providers, clinics, and disciplines
• The author is always a manager; sites can add other managers such as Clinical Application Coordinators (CACs) and Health InformationManagement Services (HIMS) folks

• Items can be added in several ways:– You can add them
individually– You can query the
system to see what is already being used
– You can import a list from another site

• A list can be installed from another site using the Import button
• These codes need to be reviewed and cleaned up before using.
Rename Function
• The code will come in with its “official” name.• Many providers would prefer a more common or
shorter name
Pick Lists and Superbills
• Create by query• Create special ones for supplies, etc.
Associations
• Can associate the following to a superbill item:– CPT– CPT Modifiers– Education Topics– Exam – Health Factors– ICD Diagnosis– ICD Procedure– Immunization– Skin Test
