Rock by Rock, each rolled in by wheelbarrows and strategically placed by human hands, the walls of the gardens were created along with waterfalls and gazebos. Trees and topography of the quarry allow temperate and semitropical plants to flourish year round. It has become a sanctuary home and refuge to many of God's creatures great and small. Birds of prey, owls, doves, numerous songbirds, butterflies, turtles, frogs, and other wildlife call this garden home. Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens is also home to domesticated animal friends including many cats, a couple dogs, a pair of swan, several ducks and pheasants, a goose, a squirrel, a Galah cockatoo, numerous Koi fish, and a 100 lb. blue catfish named BigBen. There are many benches and picnic tables throughout the trails to allow visitors to sit, enjoy the

spectacular views and nature’s sounds.

The Rivership Barbara-Lee is an authentic sternwheeler paddleboat.

The steel hull is propelled by two paddlewheels at the rear of the

vessel. This 105-foot ship was built in 1986 and was extensively

ornate wrought iron railings and wooden wheels recall the elegance

of the steamers that once plied the St. Johns River from Jacksonville

in the late 1800’s. From its home port on Lake Monroe in charming
