About the Golf Day
The RAAA Golf Day has been an annual event for many years. The serving and ex-serving
players from the Army units; Navy units; Air Force units; RAA units; and units containing a
RAA component compete for the RAA Challenge Golf Shield Perpetual Trophy.
The Charity Golf Day has been receiving ongoing support from many corporate organisations
for years. In 2008 the Corporate Shield was introduced as the engagement with corporate
organisations continually increased. Players who do not comply with the above criteria now
have a category and a trophy to compete for.
Since the first Golf Day, all proceeds have been donated to Legacy. Legacy is a great charity
providing support to those facing daily challenges after the death or incapacitation of a family
member during or after force service.
In 2015, we helped to raise $3000 which was donated to the Legacy and we hope to do even better this
year.
Help us to make an even more significant donation this year by registering a team or become a
sponsor! Sponsorship packages are available at a reasonable price. Please speak with us if you
are interested to contribute and help more people.

Highlights from our last Golf Day
The 2015 RAA Association and Condon Associates Charity Golf Day was held on 21 May 2015. Eleven
teams competed for for either the RAA Challenge Golf Shield Perpetual Trophy for the service teams,
and the Condon Associates Corporate Shield for the non-service teams.
This was the second year that the event was held at Rosnay Golf Club who continued to create a
wonderfully warm event. The warmth and unison in the room after the physical side of the day was
complete and remains second to none with many comments from both players and sponsors alike. All
sponsors departed saying that they would “be back next year; with friends!”
The key purpose of the event was to raise funds for Legacy to help meet the regrettable increasing
demand for support from the families of those who have served.
The contribution to Legacy from the 2015 RAA Association and Condon Associates Charity Golf Day
totalled $3,000.00. This brings an overall total donation to date to somewhere in the order of $14,000.
A great effort by all involved!
Winners on the day were Castle Hill RSL Sub Branch for the RAA (NSW) Shield and Cash Resources
Australia for the Condon Associates Group Trophy. We certainly congratulate them on their
achievements; but we must acknowledge that general consensus was that all who played were in fact
winners having had such an enjoyable day.

Teams will compete for either the Condon Associates Corporate Shield or
the RAAA Shield in accordance to the rules below:
The Aim
The aim is to have fun, promote Gunner traditions, and raise funds for Legacy.
Teams and Individual Players
Individual players will be allocated into an appropriate team.
Teams competing for the RAAA Shield will be made up of those representing the Army units; Navy
units; Air Force units; RAA units; units containing an RAA component e.g. Headquarters, Training
Units, Artillery Associations; RSL Sub-branch; Lodge members; serving and ex-serving person(s).
Teams competing for the Condon Associates Corporate Shield will be any team that does not comply
with the above criteria.
Type of Game
Four Ball Ambrose.
Equipment and Other Facilities
Carts and golf equipment are available for hire at the pro-shop at the Club.
Booking and payment need to be directly arranged with the pro-shop. Please contact the Pro-Shop at
the Rosnay Golf Club on 02 9749 1550 and speak with their Pro.
In Case of Bad Weather
In case of bad weather or if the Club is closed, players will be notified accordingly, or you can
contact the Rosnay Golf Club on 02 9649 8429.

Four Ball Ambrose Competition Game Rule
Teams of up to 4 people.
A team Capitan will be nominated for each team. The Team Capitan’s word is final within the
team.
An Adjudicator will be nominated for the day, and the Adjudicator’s word will be final on all
decisions made concerning the day’s golf. The Adjudicator’s decision overrides the Team
Captain’s where there is a conflict.
Individual handicaps must be clearly shown against each player’s name. Men’s maximum 27,
ladies maximum 36.
Men hit from white markers, ladies hit from the red markers.
Each player hits off the tee, the best shot is selected by the Team Capitan and all other players
pick up their ball and place it within one club length of the nominated point.
Each player’s tee shot MUST be selected at least three holes. Player’s initials must be indicated
on the card against corresponding hole.
If your best ball is played from within a hazard then each of the player's balls must be played
from within that hazard.
If you are in a team of 3 players (for 4 men Ambrose), fourth putt may be taken by any of the
team members.
The golf club will calculate the final team scores based on handicaps submitted. (Handicaps will
be summed and divided by 8 for teams for 4, or divided by 6 for teams of 3)
If there are two or more teams with the same score, the winner will be decided by a Team
Capitan’s putt off.
If for any reason play is abandoned, the result will be determined by the Adjudicator and the
Club’s professional.
Golf club will pick the holes for: Nearest To Pin, Longest Drive, and Longest Straight Drive.
