So here are your TOP TEN TIPS for good written work in your exercisebooks...

1. Write the date in full (e.g 25th December 2010 In Maths and science like this25/12/06), in the top right hand corner of a new piece of work. Include pagenumber for text book work.

2. Miss a line before the title of a written piece of work.3. Remember to use CAPITAL LETTERS for the first letter of important words in

the title.4. Underline your title and other information with a ruled line.5. Miss a line after the title before you start the main part of your work.6. Writing should be in blue or black pen. Handwriting should always be as

neat as possible.7. Diagrams, drawings, charts and tables should be in pencil.8. Use a ruler for straight lines. Some teachers like a margin at the side of the

page for comments. Check where this margin should be.9. Use pencil crayons for colouring in. If self-marking please use coloured

pencil. Felt pens and gel pens should only be used when advised by theteacher.

10. Your written work usually starts next to the margin. When you finish yourwritten or other work, leave a space and draw a line. Please use up allspaces in your exercise books and save trees.

YOUR EQUIPMENT NEEDS TO BE:Handwriting pen, pencil, ruler, calculator, coloured crayons, pencil sharpener,rubber, glue stick, rounded scissors (Correction fluid not permitted in school).
