LENT IS THE SEASON to get back to basics, to replenish the soil in which our Christian faith grows. Pampered by creature comforts, we fall into

the trap of thinking that material things will bring happiness. Instead, so often they turn out to be false escapes that lead to unhappiness and frustration. Lent is a time of quiet and purposeful reflection which helps us discover the will of God. Fasting and self-denial, backed by prayer and almsgiving, keep us growing in friendship with God. Lent. Our challenge is to renew our understanding of Lent, and to see how we could integrate our personal practices into this renewed view. We could add something during Lent rather than giving up something: either to address personal habits that need improvement or to add some outreach to others in need. AS LENT BEGINS, our candidates for

Easter Sacraments will enter the next stage of their journey into the Catholic Church. This stage is marked by the Rite of Election

(or Enrolment of Names) at the 11.30am Mass this Sunday 10 March in this Church. On the same day, they will join other catechumens of the KL Archdiocese to be presented to the Archbishop at a Rite to be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Family at 2.30pm. We, the baptized community, will continue to pray for them and for their sponsors and godparents, who will stand by them to represent us. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

HUNGRY MEAL WEEKEND Have you experienced how the poor feel when they only have a simple meal of rice and gravy … every day of the year? Do we truly appreciate the ample food that we are blessed with?

This Lent, come experience a Hungry Meal and let the Lord open our eyes! On Sat. 23 March from 5pm to 8.30pm, and Sun. 24 March from 9.30am to 2pm at the Family House. RM5 love offering per meal.
