rotorrake macerator brochure
DESCRIPTION
The Rotorrake is a robust, single-shaft coarse chopper in an inline version. Blades and counter blades are mounted one after the other on the carrier shaft. The sturdily attached counter blades are each cleaned by rotating cutting blades on both sides . The blades are moved by the rotating shaft. The Rotorrake comes in different sizes (throughput volumes of up to 800 m³/h) and tackles chopping tasks where others have failed - for chopping very coarse solids and blockages.TRANSCRIPT

Construction and PrincipleRotorrake
The Rotorrake is a robust chopping
unit using inline design. Knives and
stationary knives are pushed onto the
carrier shaft in an alternating
fashion. The stationary knives are fi xed
inside the casing. The rotating shaft
is directly driven via the drive and
bearing assembly. The Rotorrake with
its rough macerating effect allows for
high throughput capacities.
Solids laden fl uid is fed through the
Rotorrake. Separation of hard
particles is achieved by knife rotation
against stationary knives. Stones and
debris drop into the debris collector.
Reducible solids are chopped by
further knife rotation against the
stationary knives. Rotating knives and
stationary knives are reversible and
can be used from either side.
Rotorrake – designed for simple and
effective operation.
Advantages· Throughput up to 3,000 usgpm, depending on the model
· Rotorrake – compact, space-saving, single shaft design
· Variable fl ow direction – Adjustment by modifi cation of stationary knives
· Rotating shaft in oil fi lled bearing carrier
· Equipped with our standard Börger mechanical seal
· Quench chamber between fl uid and drive gear guarantees reliability
· Rotating and stationary knives can be used multiple times just by rotating them
· short direct passage
· robust rotating knives
· crescent shaped stationary knives
· machine with own bearing system and mechanical seal
· MIP design: Simply open the quick release cover and one single screw allows access to service parts.
The Rotorrake is designed modular andcan be used for various solids-reducingduties with reversible operating.

The Rotorrake is used in a dual-stage Biogas plant in the
connecting pipe between the main digester and the secondary
digester. It is installed just before the Börger Rotary Lobe
Pump. In this plant several silages (Corn, Sorghum, Grass,
Rye) and dried chicken manure are used.
The fl ow rate is app. 55 usgpm.

The Rotorrake is installed in the suction pipe of a pump for
digester circulation. In the circulation process occasionally
pigtails are formed, which frequently block the used centrifugal
type pumps. Then requiring manually cleaning which is extensive
and time consuming. With the installation of the Börger Rotorrake
blockages were eliminated. Another centrifugal pump – without
Rotorrake Technology– used in parallel, still suffers blockages
frequently. The throughput is app. 500 to 880 usgpm.
