1. Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala : The holy shrine of Lord Manjunatha is situated in Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala which is situated at a distance

of about 12 K.Ms from the venue. This place is also the adobe of lord Bahubali whose giant monolith sculpted in granite stone can be

cherished amongst other scenic places situated here.

2. Jamalabad Fort : This fort is situated at a distance of about 7 K.Ms from the venue. The fort was built by the famous king of Mysore Tippu Sulthan in th18 century. This fort is situated atop a big hillock namely Jamalagada(known in local language as Gadai kallu).

3. Belur-Halebeedu monuments : These monuments are situated at a distance of about 80 K.Ms from the venue. The monuments which were

temples during the years of yore were famous for the splendor of architecture.

4. Kukke Subrahmanya Temple : The famous “Naga” shrine of Kukke Subrahmanya is situated at a distance of about 60 K.Ms from the venue. This

holy shrine is nestled at the foothills of Kumara Parvatha beside the bank of the river Kumaradhara. The temple has a very scenic ambience.

5. Udupi Shri Krishna Temple : The holy shrine of Lord Krishna is situated in a place called Udupi at a distance of about 65 K.Ms from the venue. The

shrine is famous as the same is established and anointed by the famous 'Yathi' of our country “His Holiness Madhwacharya”.

6. Thousand Pillar Temple ( Jaina Kashi), Moodabidri : This world famous monument/temple is situated at a distance of about 30 K.Ms from the

venue.

The venue is situated in the Thaluk head quarters in Belthangady, Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka about 12 K.Ms from Dharmasthala a famous

pilgrimage centre. In order to reach the venue one can commute through state owned buses from Mangalore. There are plenty of buses plying from

Mangalore towards Dharmasthala, Kadur, Chickmagalore. The venue is situated at a distance of about 59 K.Ms from Mangalore. Mangalore is the

district head quarters which is connected to other parts of our country through air as well as through railways.

REGARDING THE VENUE

AICF registration for 2016-17 is compulsory for all Indian participants. If not registered, registration fee of ` 250/- along with the filled AICF

Registration form and passport size photograph should be submitted along the entry form. Karnataka Players must pay UKCA registration fee of

1000/- (one time) or 50/- (temporary).

AICF REGISTRATION

It is mandatory to forward the entry form in the prescribed format for accepting the entries along with prescribed entry fee. Organiser have the right to

accept or reject any entry without assigning any reason.

TOURNAMENT RULES

System of Play The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System with 9 rounds .

Time Control 90 Minutes plus 30 second increment from move 1.

Tie Break In case of a tie, the latest FIDE Rules shall come in to effect. The Cash prizes however will not be shared.
