US$150 million, in the next 3 years to support

The Four-Way Test

In 1932, Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor

created The Four-Way Test. The test,

which has been translated into more

than 100 languages, asks the following

questions:

Of the things we think, say or do

First: Is it the TRUTH?

Second: Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Third: Will it build GOODWILL and

BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Forth: Will it be BENEFICIAL to all

The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster

the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enter-

prise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an

opportunity for service;

SECOND. High ethical standards in business and

professions, the recognition of the worthiness of

all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each

Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve

society;

THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in

each Rotarian's personal, business, and commu-

nity life;

FOURTH. The advancement of international

understanding, goodwill, and peace through a

world fellowship of business and professional

persons united in the ideal of service.

Benefits of Membership

Belonging to a Rotary club provides members with

an opportunity to make a contribution to their own

communities and to communities around the world.

Members may join Rotary for many reasons, includ-

ing community involvement, personal development,

professional networking, and camaraderie with fellow

members. But perhaps the most important benefit is

the satisfaction gained from making a real difference

in the world.

Rotary Club of Murdock

Several years ago the Rotary Club of Murdock under-took a very ambitious project. It took three years to raise the necessary $300,000 to complete, but with the help of other Rotary Clubs in our area and several large sponsors we were able to build an Adaptive Playground for handi-capped children at the Charlotte Harbor School in Port

Charlotte.
