Money that is contributed to the PolioPlus Fund is used solely for the purpose of achieving the worldwide eradication of polio, and funds will be needed until that goal is achieved. Please evaluate how you might help Our Foundation to continue doing good in the world with your time, your talents, and your resources. And act to share thosewith people in need in your community, in our state, and around the world.Together we can make a difference! The Future of Rotary - In thinking about how we as Rotarians are ableto help influence not only our own kids, but also those in our local schoolsand communities. Through our support of Interact, Rotaract, RYLA, GRSP,Laws of Life Essay Contest, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, scholarship programsand so much more, we encourage our youth to participate and we fostertheir creativity and desire to serve others. The Georgia Rotary Clubs’ Laws of Life Essay ContestBest Character Education Program in the Nation?

The Georgia Rotary Clubs’ Laws of Life Essay Contest is the largest essay contest in North America, reaching more students than any other Rotary program in our state. Last year, 52

high schools participated in this Rotary-branded character education program, and more than 41,000 Georgia students wrote a Laws of Life essay. For 2014-2015, more than 65 schools have already registered to be part of this contest. This contest changes thousands of students’ lives for the better each and every year, and builds key Rotary-school ties. Our very own Kristen Albritton is on the Board of Directors and serves as Treasurer.

President's Message Our District has really taken an aggressive approach to the idea of“Shining a Light on Our Impact.” We read the Rotarian Magazine andcome to meetings, but do we really know our impact? If you look at thecounties around us, we have one of the most thriving clubs... but whatis our impact and how is it measured? Last year I taught a bible study series that I titled “Seeing the BigPicture.” The goal was to inspire people take a deeper look into theintricacies of life to gain a greater appreciation for all the blessing thatwe receive. During that time, I shared my embarrassment andfrustration when my boss looked in my car and it had 3 emptyGatorade Bottles, 3 water bottles, two Chick-fil-a bags, two pair ofshoes, dirty socks, 7 softballs, 10 baseballs, and two bat bags. Hesaid, “How do you ride in all of this clutter”? My first thought was that Iwas going to kill my kids and wife, because they had driven my car theday before and then I saw the blessing in the midst of the clutter. Yousee, for years before I was blessed with kids I prayed that God wouldallow me to have kids who enjoy the things that I do. And the clutterthat was left behind was from my kids going to baseball and softballcamp during their Summer Break. They were waking up early andspending their time off trying to improve their skills. Not only did I get kids that enjoy athletic activity, but they also possess the competitive edge to practice and work to be the best that they can be. Rather than arriving home upset, I came home thankful. Proverbs teaches us that we can’t enjoy the strength of the oxen without having to clean outtheir stalls. So as you look at your busy lives and overflowing calendars, remember to take the time to look at the big picture and to recognize the impact that you are making on the people that you interact with every day. You don’t have to recite the Four-Way Test because you live it! Our challenge is to inspire a new generation to observe through our lives the importance of “is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendships, and will it be beneficial to all concerned?”

Anyaalso visited the Thomaston Rotary Club with Kelly Hughesand Mrs. Pat Edwards took her to Spalding RegionalHospital for some volunteer hours. When you add in her

class schedule does this girl ever sleep? One of the students offered up a summary of their experience with the GRSP program: “Ladies and Gentlemen it is that time of year again, where we as students take time to reminisce on times gone

by! Georgia as a state, has opened its “peachy” arms and welcomed us ever so graciously. I speak for all students when I say; we are humbled to walk among the fine people that live here.”

DaySchool of Hospitality Management at GeorgiaState University. He also was a professor ofmeeting management, hotel convention salesand service for three-month programs during1993 to 1997 at both the Centre Internationalde Glion, in Montreaux, Switzerland, andIMHI (Cornell University-ESSEC) in Cergy-Pontoise, France.
