As you already know MDPC Conference 2016.

is taking place in our town and that we are the

hosts. Facing a huge task Rotaract club Tuzla ’99

with many planned project, aims and activities

gave most attention and time to the organization

of MDPC Conference.Glad as we are that after 3

years MDPC conference will be held in Bosnia and

Herzegovina. We work hard to make your arrival

desire is to have a good time with you, to present

tu you our city, our culture and way of life.

MDPC Conference 2016 will be held in Tuzla on

15-17 April 2016.

TUZLA

Tuzla is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is

the seat of the Tuzla Canton and is the economic,

scientific, cultural, educational, health and tourist

centre of northeast Bosnia.[ After Sarajevo and

Banja Luka, Tuzla is the third largest city in Bosnia

and Herzegovina. Preliminary results from the

2013 Census indicate that the municipality has a

population of 120,441.

Tuzla is an educational center and is home to two

universities. It is also the main industrial machine

and one of the leading economic strongholds of

Bosnia with a wide and varied industrial sector

including an expanding service sector thanks to

its salt lake tourism. The city of Tuzla is home to

Europe’s only salt lake as part of its central park

and has more than 100,000 people visiting its

shores every year.

The history of the city goes back to the 9th century;

modern Tuzla dates back to 1510 when it became

an important garrison town in the Ottoman Empire.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tuzla is also regarded

as one of the most multicultural cities in the country

and has managed to keep the pluralist character

of the city throughout the Bosnian War and after,

with Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats and a small minority

of Bosnian Jews residing in Tuzla.

RAC Wien SeccessionOur Winter-Social-Project this year was dedicat-ed to homeless people in Vienna. We collected donations and money and orga-nized giftbags that were distributed to home-less people all over Vienna through the CARI-TAS. We started our project in the beginning of December and collected donations for about a month – we did not only collect scarfs, hats and sanitary products like tooth brushes and tooth paste, but also money, with which we bought a lot of items fort hem. We promoted our project in person but also via social media. Therefore we could reach far more people and a lot of people

interesting. An important part of the club is the social com-mitment of its members. Rotaract Vienna Op-era aims to support children with special needs. Therefore, the walk-in clinic of St. Anna Chil-dren’s hospital and MOKI Vienna, a mobile chil-dren’s nurse service, are among the social proj-ects.However, there are also regular “outdoor meet-ings” such as field trips or skiing weekends in other regions of Austria. Guests are always wel-come to attend a meeting. The meetings and their topics are usually announced on facebook or on our webpage.

in need could profit from our project. We want to thank the CARITAS a lot for their support, be-cause it would have been too much for one Rot-aract Club. Also we want to say thank you to our Rotary Club Partner (Rotary Club Wien-Nordost) which supported our Project with a very gener-ous donation.

RAC Wien BelvedereLouise-BusDue to the fact that our Club celebrates soon its 35th-years anniversary, we proudly announce that we support on a weekly basis the so called „Louise Bus“ since 20 years. This bus contains medical care for homeless people in front of the Viennese „Gruft“ in co-operation with doctors and Caritas. Because of our long term involvement with this project we therefore donated money for a new „Louise“-model.

Christmas-hutOur „Adventstand“-„Christmas-hut“ - takes place every year from last weekend in November till New Years Eve (daily from 11am – 9pm) and is based on selling delicious hot wine, snacks and Rotarian goodies like cups next to the famous Albertina Building. Concerning current world affairs, our Partner Ro-tary Club „Wien-West“ an we donated this year

RAC Sarajevo In the end of 2015 Rotaract Club Belgrade Ču-karica and Rotaract Club Sarajevo decided to become twin clubs. Members of these two clubs wanted to bring the twinning process on much higher level by implementing one project togeth-er on two locations - Belgrade and Sarajevo. We wanted twining process to reflect closeness and friendship built by members of two clubs, and so we started planning one big project. As the decision to become twin clubs was made in November, the project we started masterminding was the project about was Movember in Rotaract way. Firstly name of the project was derivative of Movember and Rotaract - Movemberact. Campaign was designed to have two main phases: social networks and live theatre perfor-mance. As the Movember is about raising awareness of prostate cancer and other male diseases and is generally about men, first activity of the project was to do a photoshooting of girls of both clubs

wearing male clothes and mustaches, ofcourse male members also had to grow mustaches and having pitures taken. All the members replaced their profile pictures with the one professionally taken, having hashtag Movemberact on the pic-ture. This was the first phase. Second phase was the theatre performance done by the script and directed by Emilija Ivančajić, student of fifth year of medical faculty and member of Rotaract Club Belgrade Čukari-ca. The show in an interesting, entertaining and humorous way points to the neglect of health, particulary male health. All the actors in the play were members of two Rotaract clubs. Premiere of the show took place in Belgrade in November 2015, and then again in Sarajevo in February 2016. The show was sold out, and ac-tors got great applause. The official part of the twinning process was done in Belgrade, in November 2015, where Rotaract Club Sarajevo was special guest on charter cel-ebration of Rotary Club Belgrade Čukarica.

Rotaract Club Innsbruck 2015/2016In the current club year 2015/2016 social en-

gagement and further education are in the center

of attention of the Rotaract Club Innsbruck. Our

club is offering our members and guests a var-

ied lecture program which orientates oneself to-

wards current political world events (lecture from

the coordinator of voluntary work and integration

from the “Innsbrucker Soziale Dienste”,…). On

the other hand, we had presentations from vari-

we are offering our members the opportunity to

talk about their work experience (e.g. Mag. Julia

Fuith, B.A., LL.M. – Traineeship European Com-

The main focus lies once again on creative ac-

tivities and is carried out with the “Innsbrucker

Soziale Dienste” in form of a hands-on-activity in

the home for senior citizens Hötting in which we

are going to brighten up the old people’s home.

Mentoring and Generation ProjectsFor the first time, the newly founded Rotary youth project Intarconnect brings together Rotaract and Interact with mentoring programs, workshops, as well as social and generation projects. The project stands on two pillars: on the one hand, a mentoring program and on the other hand, in-tergenerational community projects. Modelled after Rotary, the Mentoring provides versatile development opportunities to the Rotaracters as mentors and Interactors as mentees: Interac-tors benefit from the experience and knowledge of Rotaractors, receive support and perspectives in academic and professional life and get a first impression of Rotaract. Rotaractors afford active service to the youth and young talent of Rotary and the future society. They keep in touch with the next generation and maintain on the cutting edge. In addition, workshops and training for the mentoring participants offer the opportunity to develop their skills for

Intarconnect

current leadership and professional challenges. Generation projects such as meetings through-out the Rotarian Youth and joint social projects of Rotary, Rotaract, Interact and ROTEX like build-ing a house in Bosnia and Herzegovina in April 2016 enable the exchange between the different clubs and strengthen the community and its ser-vice to society. In the upcoming Rotarian year, Intarconnect will expand to include all welcoming clubs in Austria and beyond, including Rotary Clubs in the future. The resulting cohesion in the district is support-ed by Governor Gerhard Hellmann. Intarconnect is a Rotary NPO project, registered association and member of the board of the Multiple Districts 1910 & 1920 for Austria and Bosnia and Herze-govina.Visit the official start of the program at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41s5wPkQng0Intarconnect on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/intarconnect/
