What is fallout and radiation?Fallout is radioactive particles that are stirred up from a nuclear explosion that fall down from the atmosphere.

Radiation is energy that is released as particles or electromagnetic waves and travels through space.

What You Can Do To Protect Yourself

You can use a fallout shelter to protect yourself from radiation. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency a fallout shelter should have a minimum protection factor (PF) of 40. You would only receive 2.5 % of the radiation from outside.

You can also use a nuclear radiation protection suit. It is made of material that protects you against infrared radiation, extreme heat, nuclear fallout and biological and chemical agents.

Basic Plan

• We would handle the mass panic by hiding and waiting for it to die down.

• People that have injuries can be taken care of by any doctors or nurses that volunteer to help. We can also use first-aid kits and counter medicines.

• To keep the thieves from stealing our supplies we would hide everything in the attic.

Government

Democracy- a government by the people.

Theocracy- a legal system that is based on religious law.

Dictatorship- one person or many people have absolute control.

Criminal Behavior

• We would handle criminal behavior by making them do community service depending on the severity of their crime. – Killing- become slaves– Stealing/Looting- community service for 1-15 years

North Korea• North Korea has long-range missiles that are

capable of reaching the U.S.

• In the summer of 2006, they fired an intercontinental ballistic missile towards U.S states in the Pacific.

• The missile exploded 40 seconds into flight.

• It’s unclear if it was heading to Alaska or Hawaii.

• Since North Korea has already tried to attack us, they might try to attack us again.

Communication System

• To inform people of current events we would have a town meeting every day at 4:00 PM.

• We would also have a person that can deliver messages in case of an emergency.
