October Issue

Hi this is the aftercares magazines first issue!! We all know it’s coming up to Halloween so we will have spectacular activities for you to do inside this magazine. We have a recipe page, festive page and much much more.

All of our crew have worked extremely hard to make this spooktacular magazine. All of the staff have worked hard on helping us out. But we think Stacey has helped us all make this possible she’s a star. If you have any comments please tell us as we are open to any feedback.

To finish off we thank Grace Berry the manager of R.O.S.C who allowed us to create this magazine and many other members of staff who helped us with ideas and designs.

Hi my name is Eilidh I have been interviewing people to find out what they love about

Halloween!

Why do you like Halloween?? Abbie: I like the Jokes and also trick or treating!

Harry: I like it because you get sweets

What’s your favourite Halloween costume ever? Abbie: my favourite is Hermione from Harry potter

Harry: Mine is the incredible Hulk!!

What’s your favourite thing to do at Halloween? Abbie: I love telling Jokes because they are funny!

Harry: I love the jokes too!

Any Halloween jokes you can share with us? Abbie: Q. Why did the skeleton not go to the ball?

Spot the 5 Differences

Recipe Page Hi my name is Kendra and this is a spooky Recipe for you and your friends and family to enjoy. Just make sure you

don’t get too scared!!

Ingredients

Serves: 24

1 (500g) package chocolate cake mix 500g (1 1/4 lb.) black liquorice laces 500g (1 1/4 lb.) dark chocolate icing

48 jelly diamonds 48 mini jelly beans

Preparation method

Prep: 1 hour | Cook: 30 mins

1. Prepare fairy cakes according to package directions. Let cool completely.

2. Cut liquorice laces into 7cm (3 in) sections. Working with one or two cakes at a time, so the icing doesn't set before decorating, ice the fairy

cakes with the chocolate icing. Insert liquorice pieces into the outer edges of the cakes to make the legs of the spider, 3 legs on each side (4 take up too much space). Place two jelly diamonds on the front for fangs and use

two mini jelly beans as eyes. Repeat with remaining fairy cakes.

Tip:

Feel free to play around with the fairy cake decorations - you can use Smarties or buttons for the eyes, or strawberry laces for the legs. Just try

to make them look as scary as possible!

The Ugly Duckling My favourite book is the “Ugly Duckling”

This story is about a little duckling that everyone thinks is ugly. The ugly duckling goes to try and find friends but nobody wants to play with him. The poor duckling was so sad he ran away to a shed. He stayed there for a couple of months. When he got out he was a beautiful swan. The swan was very happy now. This is my favourite book because I liked the Ugly duckling. I thought he was cute all along.

My name is Chris and I have a film and games review for you. Battleships The film battleships is about a man who is a careless person with a brother who is in the navy. The man who is careless is called Alex Hooper and he forgot his brothers name. On Alexs birthday he steals from a shop and he gets told off by the police. His brother tells him to join The navy. He does and he gets on a battleship that gets attacked by aliens! I really liked this film and I think you would to I give it a ***** rating Skate Skate is a skateboarding game for the Xbox. You can start a profile and get sponsors for yourself. You can get money and buy clothes, you can unlock skate parks to skate in and you can do awesome tricks!! You can also get on a magazine This game is really good so you should try and play it. You can also get a Skate 2 and 3! I give it a ***** rating
