What is layered lighting and why do you need it?Your home typically has multi-purpose spaces. At times you will use your living

room to entertain guests or to read a book or maybe to watch a movie with the

family. All these tasks need different lighting levels or ‘layers’. By creating a layered

lighting system, you can adapt the lighting in your room to fit the task at hand.

Creating layered lighting

The Philips RoomStylers – Decorative Light collection is useful for creating a

connected, layered lighting system. The wall and ceiling lights give you a basic

ambient light level. The wall lights can also be used to throw light on an interesting

sculpture or curio showcase. While a well placed ceiling lamp draws the whole

room together, floor lamps and table lamps add sparkle to a room and can build up

light levels as and when needed.
