WHAT PLACE TO B DOES TO REDUCE WASTE:

• LESS PACKAGING: we have ordered large-sized packages (rather than individual packages) for breakfast and zero-packaging dry soap & shampoo (we sell some for those that forget theirs)

• LESS DISPOSABLE PRODUCTS: we have chosen reusable inox stirrers instead of plastic ones, and asked for no paper wrapping for cutlery

• A SECOND LIFE FOR PRODUCTS: several are lent by organisations from the community. We will also be collecting name-tag holders for reuse and, reselling or giving our furniture after the event.

• BETTER SORTING OF WASTE: recyclables will be collected separetly, as well as biowaste, which will be sent to an anaerobic digestor in order to produce biogaz.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP US ACHIEVE ZERO WASTE:

• Bring your reusable bottle (to take away your breakfast drink)• Keep your towel as long as possible• Bring your own shampoo and soap• At breakfast, come back to serve yourself twice instead of risking foodwaste by having a too large first portion

HOW TO SORT ?

Biowaste are collected at the bar. For others, follow the french rules --- (you have 2 bins in your room). Thanks!

If you want to learn how to create a Zero Waste event, you can download our guide « Mon événement Zero Waste », which was co-designed by Donatienne Lavoillotte and Zero Waste France (in french).www.zerowastefrance.org/media/201506_KitEvenementiel.pdf

Place to B is a project produced by the association «Ecolo Info» whose goal is to make information about ecology and sustainable development clear and accessible to everyone.

OUR PARTNER

AVOB — Alternative Vision Of Business — was created in 2008 by three engineers to help companies reduce their computer’s energy consumption. Their software AVOB Energy Saver enables up to 75% reduction in energy consumption from IT infrastructure while increasing users’comfort. Since 2011, AVOB has launched a new brand - Building Energy Viewer - dedicated to energy savings in corporate buildings.

THE PARTNERSHIP

AVOB and Place to B have partnered to install on site an innovative blend of widgets and sensors that will give us the opportunity to study the energy behavior of the building and reduce energy consumption. Thanks to its expertise, AVOB will advise Place to B and all COPilots on how reach the lowest consumption possible!

You can find more details on AVOB and the partnership on Place to B website!

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP US ACHIEVE ENERGY SAVINGS IN PLACE TO B

Remember to turn down lights in your room, especially those in each bed, when you don’t need them or before leaving. All rooms and dormitories have their own heating system. Please try to avoid too much heating and remember to turn it off when you leave.Unplug chargers and adapters plugged in the room when you’re not using them. It won’t save much energy but altogether it’s something!A four-minute shower uses approximately 20 to 40 gallons of water. Shorter showers reduce water consumption as turning off the water after you wet your toothbrush!

A ZERO WASTE EVENT

WHAT IS A ZERO WASTE EVENT ?A Zero Waste event is designed to reduce or even totally avoid waste production, in order to restrain the use of raw materials. This is possible through different actions : waste reduction (The best piece of trash is the one that never existed in the first place), reusing, reemployment, recycling and composting. Place to B is following this path, with Belushi’s team of course!
