The roofline is where the walls of your house meet the roof! It’s where your gutters collect the rainwater running from your roof, and channel it safely away into your drains. Traditional timber soffits and fascias need a lot of regular maintenance, which can be expensive and inconvenient - and frankly dangerous if you go up the ladder yourself! New high-quality uPVC roofline is the maintenance-free answer. The old timber will be removed, any roof spars that need attention will be reconditioned, and an eaves protection system will be installed: this includes measures to prevent pest infestation. ** Painted timber is recyclable in theory, but requires a lot of work to remove the paint because it penetrates the wood. In practice a lot of old timber ends up in the skip or on a fire.

The roofline is the weakest point of the building and the

area that gets the most punishment from the elements,

where weather can attack and damage your home.

Because access is difficult, it’s also the least observed area

and the hardest to maintain, and as such isn’t the ideal spot

for a vulnerable material such as wood. Driving rain can

force itself through the slightest gap between the roof and

the walls exposing your home to the elements.

Left unchecked, water from blocked or broken gutters will

overflow down your outside walls creating conditions that

can lead to unhealthy damp and mould on the inside. If

moisture gets into your roof, rafters and joists will

soon start to rot.

And once the damage has been done, repairs are costly.

Old-fashioned roofline is made of timber, but wood moves

and absorbs water, leading to rot and decay. Wood is great

for furniture, but without maintenance it doesn’t provide

great protection against the weather.

uPVC roofline, on the other hand,

won’t rot. It doesn’t warp or bend

and doesn’t require expensive annual

maintenance; a quick wipe down

once in a while will keep them

looking fresh.

no matter the age, design or type of brickwork. It is possible to mix and match some of the finishes,

meaning that black fascias with white soffits is entirely possible.

Extra peace of mind. All Alexander Windows Roofline installations are covered by a comprehensive warranty that covers both the product and the installation: the only exception is storm damage or accidental damage, which are not covered. The warranty can vary from between 5 years and a lifetime, depending on the product that you choose. Rest assured, though, that with 21 years under our belt and the next generation already working hard, we’re sure we’ll be around for at least another 21 years!

Alexander Windows guarantees that white, colour and woodgrain uPVC soffi ts and fascias will retain their decorative function for

ten years under natural weathering conditions.

10 Years - Rainwater Goods & Dry Verge Performance

Alexander Windows guarantees that Rainwater Goods and Dry Verge will maintain their mechanical function for

ten years under natural weathering conditions.

5 Years - Rainwater Goods & Dry Verge Colourfastness

Alexander Windows guarantees that Rainwater Goods and Dry Verge will maintain their decorative function for fi ve years under

natural weathering conditions.

These warranties do not cover accidental damage or storm damage. Should you decide to sell your property, the remaining balance

of a ten year warranty is fully transferable but incurs an administration charge.
