DOING RIGHT . . . by David W. Spillman
Doing right...why is it sometimes so hard? We love God to the core, and we know that His ways are the best for our lives, but why do we cave so easily to temptation? Could it be that the instant payoff is more attractive at the moment? It's like when you crave popcorn, we know that microwave popcorn is loaded with all sorts of unhealthy additives that are processed to the max. Instead of taking the few extra minutes to take out a pot with a lid, adding a tablespoon of cooking oil, 2/3 of a cup of popcorn to the sizzling cooking oil, and watching it as it pops on the stovetop, it is so much easier, faster, and less clean-up to just get a bag of microwave popcorn and stick it in the microwave for a few minutes and boom, popcorn ready to eat! Or when you are going to grab a little bed time snack and instead of opting for a satisfying bowl of cereal which is much healthier and easier on your stomach, you grab a half dozen, double- stuffed Oreo cookies! Instant gratification, only to later regret the choice.
I believe the same is true when temptation comes knocking on our door, it is hard to remember the good that God has promised us for making right choices. So often we opt for the easy, or the choice that will bring us the most momentary pleasure that will satisfy. But then later, we discover that the choice we made for the instant gratification is short-lived.
Let these words of David sink deep in your heart...read them slowly...meditate on each phrase... "The Lord rewarded me for doing right; He restored me because of my innocence. For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have not turned from my God to follow evil. I have followed all His regulations; I have never abandoned His decrees. I am blameless before God; I have kept myself from sin. The Lord rewarded me for doing right. He has seen my innocence." (Psalm 18:20-24 NLT).
MOTHERS NEED HELP!
Crittenton Center’s Crisis Nursery is an oasis for mothers who have no place else to turn to when they desperately need help. In turn, Crittenton needs help in meeting the needs of these mothers.

If you can help, please consider purchasing new items (see listing below) that would be a blessing to the nursery and its clients.
