The Foundation of our Line

• It is a simple progression we do every day with our offense during team period

• It develops proper stance technique, LEG technique, develops proper leverage technique, develops proper attitude and it develops the base of how we teach line concepts.

• It focus on the how and why of blocking in the system.

• In full speed – it creates competition and a violent attitude during our warm up period

The Frame Work

• Blocking Fits during Dynamic Warm ups: • It happens every day.• It reinforces proper stance and proper blocking techniques in all of our

players every day.• Static defender, ½ speed defender, full speed defender• Violent action and competitive nature• Strike first, strike fast, strike hard

• Pre-Season Chute Drills• Metal Chutes, Plastic Chutes, or a simple PVC rectangle held by coaches

or players will work.• Stance, Get off, leverage, violence, competition• Dummies, defender at ½ speed, defender at full speed• Everyday during pre-season to instill this into our team

Upper Body

• LEG w/ flippers: – Drive: just below chest plate– Down:

• Penetrator: head to far arm pit, flipper to chest, palm in near arm pit (punch violently).

• Reader (teach as go): head behind near arm pit, flippers under arm pit.

• LEG w/ palms:– Drive: punch palms just below arm pits (soft spot),

squeeze and lock.– Down: same as above

competition brings the best out in your players)

• Fix mistakes on the fly. Oline coach and RB coach must fix things on the fly. No long winded teaching or corrections. One kid, one fix, run it again. Repeat as needed.
