Romulo Pires – Ruling the Modeling World with his Brilliance

Brazil is the birthplace of many super models. Not the least of which, Romulo Pires entered the scene in 2003, after a call from Karl Lagerfeld propelled him into model-superstardom. His sculptured good looks and his Italian and Brazilian ancestry helped land him on People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive list in 2006, when he was considered reigning Brazilian model royalty.

Romulo Pires loves modeling. He loves being able to help his family have a better life, and he loves being able to travel the world. “You get to see the world, and it’s always free. You get to know different places, and I have learned English and some Italian and French, as well,” he said.

More than likely, if a talent scout hadn’t spotted him as raw talent while he changed her tire back in 2001, he never would have been able to see the world as he has - and the camera, viewers, and readers, are eternally grateful.

His reputation has grown exponentially for his work on campaigns for Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Pepe Jeans, Cavali Classic, Christian Lacroix, Carolina Herrera, CK1, Emanuel Ungaro and so many other high-profile brands and designers.

To keep healthy he likes to have both a sound mind and body. He lives by the words, “Save money. Be happy, and don’t waste time because it is precious.”

These ideals coupled with playing regular sports like soccer, tennis, golf, running daily, and eating small meals throughout the day, help keep him a lean, mean modeling machine.

Romulo Pires is a fun-loving guy. He affectionately recalls a time, while in Japan and shooting with Karl Lagerfeld for W Magazine, when he and the other models were lost in a sea of people.

Thousands of Japanese surrounded the models and they had to find their way back to one another. In the end, the shoot came out perfectly because now, it wasn’t just the models, but everyone, the entire crowd was in the picture, and Romulo was delighted.
