SARMALE (stuffed cabbage):
Minced meat (beef, pork, veal, lamb, or goat) rice, onions and various spices, including salt ,pepper and various local herbs mixed together and rolled into large plant leaves as : cabbage (fresh or pickled), grape leaves etc.
Mămăliga : is cooked by boiling water, salt and cornmeal in a special-shaped pot called ceaun. Is often served with yogurt cream and cheese on the side or crushed in a bowl of hot milk.
Slănină (lard) :fat from the pork`s stomach , kept 2-3 weeks in a very salty water in which one can put garlic scrubbed with hot or sweet paprika and smoked in a room for a couple of days.
Ţuică & Pălincă
Ţuică & Pălincă : drinks made of plums , apples, pears, apricots and sometimes cherries, and even from mulberry (dude). They are double distillated drinks left for fermentation.
Sweets
Cozonac : is a sweet bread, to which milk, sugar, eggs, butter and raisins are added.
