Mis hermanos y hermanas,

A medida que nuestros hijos regresan a la escuela,

nuestros pensamientos se vuelven hacia la catequesis, la

enseñanza de los fundamentos de la Fe. Estoy muy feliz de

anunciar una actualización y mejora de nuestro programa

de catequesis para todos los niños y adolescentes.

Por primera vez, nos enfocaremos en las necesidades

de los niños de tres a seis años con la Catequesis del Buen

Pastor. Este programa, basado en el método de enseñanza

Montessori, expresa la creencia de que todos los niños,

incluso los más pequeños, tienen dentro de sí un sentido

natural de Dios. Este programa, desarrollado por Sofia

Cavaletti, utiliza un enfoque muy práctico para enseñar

reverencia por lo sagrado y una conciencia de Dios.

Debido a la naturaleza y al método "uno a uno"

utilizados, esta forma de catequesis es ideal para niños con

necesidades especiales. Me gustaría mucho que esta

parroquia fuera un centro para aquellos cuyas necesidades

especiales no se satisfacen con enfoques más tradicionales.

Los niños de segundo a quinto grado se beneficiarán a través de un programa titulado, Usted es Perdonado / Eres Amado. El énfasis estará en el Sacramento de la Reconciliación y la Sagrada Eucaristía y la profundización de su amor por ambos Sacramentos. También habrá un acercamiento a los padres en un programa llamado Presencia. Los grados sexto, séptimo y octavo y la escuela secundaria (High School) estarán bajo el paraguas de un programa llamado Life Teen, un enfoque atractivo y emocionante para la enseñanza para adolescentes. Más específicamente, los niños de la escuela intermedia participarán en una sección de Life Teen titulada Edge y los de High School participarán en una sección creada para ellos titulada Propósito (Purpose). My brothers and sisters,

As our children now return to school, our thoughts

turn to catechesis, the teaching of the fundamentals of

the faith. I am very happy to announce an update and

improvement to our catechetical program for all children

and adolescents.

For the first time, we will be addressing the needs of

three to six-year old children with the Catechesis of the

Good Shepherd. This program, based on the Montessori

Method of teaching, expresses the belief that all children,

even the youngest of them, have within them an innate

sense of God. This program, developed by Sofia Cavaletti,

uses a very hands-on approach to teach reverence for the

sacred. and an awareness of God.

Because of the "one on one" nature and method

used, this form of catechesis is ideal for children with

special needs. I would like very much for this Parish to be

a center for those whose special needs are not being met

by more traditional approaches.

Those children in second through fifth grade will

benefit through a program entitled, You are Forgiven/You

are Loved. The emphasis will be on the Sacrament of

Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist and their deepening

of their love for both Sacraments. There will also be an

outreach to the parents in a program call Presence.

Grades six, seven and eight and High School will be

under an umbrella of a Program called Life Teen, an

engaging and exciting approach to teaching adolescence.

More specifically, Middle School children will participate

in a section of Life Teen entitled Edge and High School

students will participate in a section created for them

entitled Purpose. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and

alone, but Teen Life exists to equip, encourage and

empower teenagers to live life in a meaningful way,

according to God’s purpose and design.
