A MESSAGE FOR YOU
Jesus after teaching his disciples (Mt. 5: 1-2) commissioned them to make disciples of all nations (Mt. 28: 19). The disciples (meaning learners) accepted the responsibility to enable others to achieve purpose in the face of uncertainty. And Jesus assured them all that he is going to be with them always, until the end of the age (Mt. 28: 20). The learners become leaders.
To follow up the just concluded assembly on grateful disciples, I would like to use a certain model developed by my former mentor called the “Snowflake Model” of leadership. This model is a way of organizing ministries of disciples in our parish.
In this model, the Pastor is at the center who is leading the campaign and with the assistance of the Parochial Vicar and the Pastoral Associate who is coordinating the Committees. I am at the center of the snowflake because it is sort of a team. My role with the support of the Pastoral and Finance Councils may be strategy, plan and oversee the whole program and another’s role may be faith formation. The other’s role may be liturgy and another’s role may be communicating and marketing, still other may be community building, educating the young kids and still other may be reaching out to church and un-church members.
As seen in the diagram, leadership in the snowflake model is distributed. This means responsibility is shared in a sustainable way. It is made up of interconnected ministries working together to further common parish goals.
Moreover, the snowflake model is based above all on enabling others. Everyone is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and developing leaders. Leaders develop other leaders, who in turn, develop other leaders, and so on. Every leader is responsible for that particular ministry of disciples.
With God’s blessing and guidance, may we figure out how to craft this interdependence of individual ministries and collective committees and make our parish community a better community: a giving, praying and serving community. God bless, Fr. Rolyn Francisco

Thank you for the amazing response to the many, many requests to direct your state tax dollars to Christ the King School.
Our final amount was $206,098 these funds will be used for Scholarship Assistance for families here at our school. Thank you to those who shared their stories about how CEA and Catholic Education made a difference in their lives. If you did happen to miss out, don't make the same mistake next year. You can visit the website at ww.CatholicEducationArizona.org and set up a budget plan. Every Catholic tax payer should take advantage of this. Every resident in Arizona who values quality education can, and should, use the power of tax-credits, regardless of their church registration. Again, thank you!

A Prayer for Generosity
Dear Lord, teach me to be generous,
teach me to serve you as you deserve,
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wound,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for a reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will.
~ St. Ignatius of Loyola
Una oración para la generosidad
Señor Jesús
enséñanos a ser generosos
a servirte como Tú mereces
a dar sin medida,
a combatir sin temor a las heridas
a trabajar sin descanso
sin esperar otra recompensa
que saber que hemos cumplido
Tú santa voluntad.

He gave to Simon, Peter and to all of the twelve, The keys to the kingdom
so darkness would never prevail. But some of the shepherds
have pastured themselves on their sheep So He’s come out against them
and scattered His people of faith.
But He’ll not forsake His people. He’ll claim His sheep for His own.
He’ll send out His Word to the nations, regather His people back home.
For He is the good shepherd He’s laid down His life for His sheep
And out of many nations, He’s gathered one fold in one faith.
Cf. Ps 33 (32): 5-6 The merciful love of the Lord fills the earth;
by the word of the Lord the heavens were made, alleluia.

He is the good shepherd and He’s laid down His life for His sheep And out of many nations He’s gathered one fold in one faith. And He has built His church on the rock foundation of faith,
On apostles and prophets who shepherd the people in his place.
There is one faith, one hope and one baptism, one God and Father of all. There is one church, one body, one life in the Spirit now given so freely to all.

Lord of all creation, of water, earth and sky, The heavens are Your tabernacle; glory to the Lord on high.
God of wonders beyond our galaxy You are holy, holy; The universe declares Your majesty. You are holy, holy;
Lord of heaven and earth, Lord of heaven and Earth.
Early in the morning, I will celebrate the light. When I stumble in the darkness, I will call Your name by night.
Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and earth

The King of love my shepherd is, Whose goodness fails me never. I nothing lack if I am His, and He is mine forever.
Where streams of living water flow, my ransomed soul He’s leading. And where the verdant pastures grow, with food celestial feeding.
Confused and foolish, oft I strayed, but yet in love He sought me. And on His shoulder gently laid, and home, rejoicing, brought me.
In death’s dark vale I fear no ill, with You, dear Lord, beside me. Your rod and staff my comfort still, Your cross before to guide me.
You spread a table in my sight, Your saving grace bestowing, And oh, what transport of delight from Your pure chalice flowing!
And so through all the length of days, Your goodness fails me never, Good Shepherd, may I sing Your praise within Your house forever.
The Good Shepherd has risen, who laid down his life for his sheep and willingly died for his flock, alleluia.
Act of Faith During Communion: Lord Jesus Christ, I firmly believe that you are present in this Blessed
Sacrament as true God and true Man, with your Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. My Redeemer and my Judge,
I adore your Divine Majesty together with the angels and saints. I believe, O Lord; increase my faith.

Like a shepherd I will feed you; I will gather you with care. I will lead you and hold you
close to my heart.
We will run and not grow weary, for our God will be our strength,
and we will fly like the eagle, we will rise again.
I am strength to the weary; to the weak I am new life.
Though the young may grow weary, I will be their hope.
Fear not, I am with you; I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you;
uphold you with my hand.

Shepherd me O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.
God is my shepherd so nothing shall I want, I rest in the meadows of faithfulness and love. I walk by the quiet waters of peace.
Gently you raise me and heal my weary soul, You lead me by pathways of righteousness and truth, My spirit shall sing the music of Your name.
Though I should wander the valley of death, I fear no evil, for You are at my side. Your rod and Your staff, my comfort and my hope.
You have set me a banquet of love in the face of hatred, Crowning me with love beyond my pow’r to hold.
Surely your kindness and mercy follow me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of my God forever more.
