County Board Report The County Board Meeting of November 19th heard a variety of

presentations regarding specific areas of the Strategic Vision and Action

Plan: Games Development (Kevin O’Callaghan), Welcoming People from

Different Traditions (Kieran McGann), Urbanisation (Denis Coughlan), and

Ensuring the Safety and Well-being of Young Players (Marc Sheehan).

Reports from Ard-Comhairle and Munster Council were presented and

discussed, and have been sent to clubs, as has the monthly Progress

Report. The Draw for the Munster Minor Hurling Championship, which was

deferred recently pending clarification of Kerry’s involvement, will take

place on Thursday night.

A Health and Well-Being Sub-Committee is to be appointed, in accordance

with Rule 3.22 (O.G). Jerry Linehan (Inniscarra) was recommended as an

Intermediate Hurling Selector, while Alan Whelan (Brian Dillons) will join

the Junior Football selectors. Colm Crowley (Killeagh) has been appointed

as Games Development Administrator to fill the latest vacancy.

Tributes were paid to the Cork footballers who have retired in recent

weeks, most notably captain Graham Canty, and to Ger Cunningham on

his departure from the Senior Hurling management.

Fixtures were ratified and the proposal to introduce relegation to the

Senior Hurling League was defeated by sixteen votes to ten. Draws were
